I bought a pair of burgundy shell MacNeils, which I posted a few pages back. However, I never stated my concern about them. When I called the outlet shop that carried the shoes in my size, I asked what the defects were, and I was told there was a scratch (which I easily buffed out upon receiving the shoes) as well as a misalignment of the wing on the left shoe. I'll be posting pictures below to show you what I mean, but I'd like some opinions. I personally notice everything and everything about my shoes, and I know I will be told to send them back if I'm not happy with them. But, for the price I paid (the gentleman, for some reason, said he'd drop the price to $299) I'm not sure if I could really beat it. I am happy with the price I paid, in addition to the fact that I'm 100% sure that 99% of people will NOT notice the defect (100% of the people on this forum will, though), but what do you guys think?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I would definitely keep those.  Seems like a nice color as well.

Your the only one who even sees it.

Rock em till the soles fall off....:D

You can try getting second belts from AE outlet stores. I got a few from the last sale and had a great experience. I couldn't find anything wrong with them.

Seconds dress belts (the madison, not the wide basic) are on sale for $49. This is your best bet for a quality belt that is guaranteed to match.

Next to Meermin, they seem to be the cheapest wholecuts out there.

I think they might be out of black in my size, unfortunately...

Absolutely get the Kenilworth. I picked up dark brown ones to go with my black ones. In my eyes, they are nicer and cleaner than the park avenue. You cant beat smooth leather.

In reference to Trader George. Is it just me or are the eyelets misaligned on the right shoe? Still looks fantastic though.

So you're saying get the black Kenilworth over getting the Hanover in black, even with me having bourbon Kenilworth? That's why I've held out on black because still can't decide. Everyone always says PA but I like a casual part and also dressy..

Personally I find the Kenilworth better looking than the Park Avenue. People will say the Balmoral (PA) is technically more formal but to me the sharp clean look of the Kenilworth looks better with a suit and equally good with dark jeans, whereas the Park Avenue would look awkward with jeans, so the Kenilworth is more versatile.

If you are deciding between the Hanover and Kenilworth, it depends on where you primarily mean to wear it. To me, the Hanover is a very formal shoe, I was looking to get one to use as my formal/tuxedo shoe in order to minimize wear and creasing. My black Kenilworths are my go to black office/business formal and nightclub shoes with jeans. I dont think you could wear the Hanover with jeans, but thats just me. In that sense, I find the Kenilworth more versatile.

Yes, Cambridge fits looser. It's been discussed in the thread before. I can wear 8.5c in calf PA. My feet were swimming in the same size in Cambridge. It was longer and definitely wider. Probably would need a 8d.
