missed a pair of Dalton Burg's Cordovans from the shoe bank...oh well...maybe some burg cordovan leeds.

Saw that they have Dundee Brown in my size on their website. Called Shoe Bank and was told that it's gone.

Mixed feeling - sad that they don't have it anymore; glad that I didn't spend $399.

Wow. The price drop is making it hard not to pull the trigger. I think I have (finally) decided to get the Lexington but I don't know if the brown or the chili would be best. I like the chili color better but the brown would give me more flexibility, right? Is chili dark enough to act as merlot/burgundy?

I don't trust internet photos when it comes to shoe color.

I saw the Lexington in all colors in person and I believe the bourbon is more versatile. Personally.

  • Well, that was fast.  23 posts?  Wonder if that's a record.

Bourbon McAllisters.

Your shoes are seconds, so by definition there will be issues, but most of these pics of defects are of "firsts", if that is an actual term.

Is there insufficient QC at AE these days, or?

I brought up this question a while back (several months ago), and I got ripped apart. I'm not sure if the issue is poor/sloppy craftsmanship, or just the fact that there are more flawed shoes as a result of the vast number of shoes they produce, but compared to other companies the ratio is the same and we just see more of them because people come to this forum to complain about their shoes, or ask questions regarding perceived flaws in the shoes. I don't know what the answer is, but those are some ideas.

personally, I have had no such issues with quality control.

Hi there...I am new here. I was looking to pick up a pair of Dalton boots in Bourbon, and noticed Shoebank has them at $254. I think they were $300 last week. Is this the tent sale, or do you think they will drop lower in a few days?
Thanks!
Greg

I see some of those sale prices already on the shoe bank site.

Some good deals, like the Delray for $150...

Delray for $150 is an amazing deal. It's very similar to the Lasalle, but more dressed-up whereas the Lasalle is slighly more rugged due to the stitching, but either pair will work well in a business casual or semi-formal setting.

is this a good time to pick up Black PA's or should I wait for Nordstrom's sale (I've only been around ~6 months so not familiar with the best sales yet).

Didn't JAB offered the black PA and shoe trees for $200?

I know I'm going to get clobbered for this, but does anyone happen to have the shoe bank link? It doesn't appear that I bookmarked it and I know the original link is a month back or so.

Thanks
