They are vastly different companies with vastly different business plans and scales of operations.

The only shoes that come close to 700$ in the AE line up are cordovan boots, and other exotics like ostrich or croc.

Most of the calf or cow MTOs here were actually purchased at sale price points, with any problems followed up with great customer service. That's why you don't see much complaining.

Indeed. Ms. Allison must be a very busy and capable person! With hope, AE can keep her happy. It appears that she has come to the rescue for many people in this thread, and sometimes several times in the same transaction!

Oh, I get it. You're trolling. Well, have fun with that.

Comparable to some of the first quality that I have been sent.

Hmmm, what size did you get?

(Is that a templated reaction, or?)

Well, I for one am a big fan of Ms. Allison's. She must have a very difficult job. Kudos!

Sale on AE at Jos a Bank. With promo "gift," Boardroom or nathan with one pair of shoe trees comes to $206.5. boardroom is park ave on 7 last, nathan is fifth ave on 8 last. shoes are first quality shipped straight from AE.

Also, someone was asking about macy's. As far as I know, they don't carry wide sizes

Hey man,

Cut it out. Ryderfan has always helped everyone with questions regarding AE shoes. Dunno what your trying to prove but this thread doesn't need it. It's just shoes biggrin.gif

Only pair of AE'S I have right now are the brown Patriot. Just started my career and just starting my collection as well. So I'm really looking for staples for mainly suits as well as business casual from time to time.

Eh, if you pay for first quality shoes, you should expect first quality shoes.

I'm not arguing that point. I'm just saying that I don't look my shoes over that well when I take them out of the box, I guess.

I received a severely defective pair in February when there was a big sale. Was told to send them back for a replacement. Did so in April (hadn't worn them yet) and was told I would be put on a waiting list. Have been called twice in the past month to tell me they have shipped only to call a week later, asking for my tracking and being told "oh sorry they oversold and I never shipped them". I had to find it out a week later by calling. Still without a pair of shoes and no reply to my e-mail

Manager called me back. Apologized and said I could have any color strands I wanted (I had returned brooks brothers walnut). I paid $150 for the walnut in February and decided to get bourbon instead. I'll deal with the inconvenience for $150 bourbon strands seconds. Customer device completely won me over. They didn't need to go this far, but did
