No one wears burgundy shoes? Don't see much being posted

Beautiful truffles, Burzan! Wish AE would bring this and walnut shell back.

Maybe I need a wider shoe rather than a longer one but again they don't stock them in China. I already had to take a trip across thecountry to fit theshoes. With longer shoes what problems will I have? Just creasing?

Walnut is odd you with dark colors you say? I sawsomefantastic pictures of a man pulling that off but maybe it was bourbon. I don't reallyknowthe difference.

Maybe I should skip black for now. Would a good alternative be PA in brown or should I just switch the shoe entirely. I can always get a black PA when I need one I guess but I'd rather have a shoe I can dress down and up a little easier.

Why merlot rathe than a boubon and walnut?

Do you guys like Sapienza

I see nordstrom currently has some ae's on sale for 25% off. Do I buy or wait until the other sales they have in the summer?

Just bought these for $41. Is this a good candidate for recrafting or just heels and soles from my cobbler?

Click this link to the eBay post. Plenty of pics there. I don't have them yet...

Hmmm. Wow. They really wear their backs down on the outside edge! I think I would probably go for a full recraft from AE personally. Shoes look like they are in good shape with the upper and structure.

I didn't see the "these" link in your first post. Good old iPhone.

That is what I was thinking. I will be in about $200 for a basically brand new pair of PAs. Score!

Most definitely! Plus then you get to squish the cork around so it conforms to your foot and feel better! :-)

They have a nice color to them. whatever you do, you need to post before and after photos. Not enough of that here!

Here is a pic from jasonmx3. I like this combination very much.

I have wide and weird feet. There is some fat at midfeet. When standing, my midfeet are the widest part, making the topline of the shoes bow outside. With proper length and width, this effect can be minimized.

There is a rule that your shoes should always darker than your pants. Or you will draw peoples' eyes to your shoes, just like the walnut shoes with navy pants several posts above. I think it makes sense. But you can always break this rule. It is more a personal taste. I did not like the reddish Merlot at first. Now I like it and it looks good with everything except black, even more versatile than dark brown. Bourbon is still not dark enough for me. The use of walnut and bourbon is limited if you follow the rule. They make a good third or fourth pair. Park Avenue is nice, but some brogue will be better to dress down and up.

Do not like Sapienza, looks very odd to me. I think it is discontinued. I prefer, something more classic. Take a look at some penny loafer or bit loafer. But loafers are even more difficult to fit since no laces. Also take a look at 333 last. I think it is more elegant and better for wide feet than 65 last.

How is the price in China? In US, you can get some discount now and then and the service is great.

I have a different opinion. Those shoes look quite beat up to me, though well-polished. I would only buy them to use as beaters. Have a local cobbler do a basic resole plus rubber topy. I would not invest 200$ in them.

In a few weeks brand new first quality park aves will be on sale through Nordstrom for not much more than 200$. I would save my speckles for that.

I agree they are well worn, but burgundy PA's are not part of the Anniversary sale for Nordstrom, only black.

@Josh Savage FWIW, I think you would have been better served to pick up a pair of seconds on sale for roughly the same amount of investment as you have with these used shoes and the recraft.
