Zennypoo, those look awesome! I just got my Brown Shell MTOs back from the factory yesterday! Excited to get mine out there as well! Enjoy them sir! :-)

I like the color contrast already showing on the vamp (at least from the angle)...

Does the AE Kenwood Saddle really look like this in reality?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I'm looking for a tan loafer and the Kenwood looks absolutely great in this picture. However, I haven't been able to find many in action shots. I haven't been able to find out much info on the leather / construction either. Is this picture a cordovan version? I read on AE that the regular Kenwood is corrected grain, which kind of puts me off as well.

Thank you guys for the kind words! I plan on wearing mine suit or no suit icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Mike, glad to hear you got them back, post some pictures please!

The contrast is pretty cool, I hope it'll get more pronounced as they break in.

Just picked up some brown suede Patriots for $137 at Macy's.

My new MTO Brown Shell Cordovan Geary Wingtips with my Burgundy Shell Patriots.

The wingtips are great. They actually look better on the foot than they do in these pictures. Right now, both colors are pretty dark, but I imagine the brown cordovan will warm up after I put it through some wear.

I know rare shell is hard to come by these days, but if AE were to acquire some in the future, it would probably be walnut cordovan, right? I'd love to MTO a pair of Patriots in walnut.

I've been wearing my new Rush Street's all afternoon and into the evening.. I tell you what, these things are comfortable and look great as a casual shoe!

Will definitely enjoy this pair as part of the casual rotation.

I'm wondering if this is normal on firsts. I was polishing them tonight and noticed the crimped looking leather on the captoe.

Additionally, the captoe appears to be starting to crease. Is either the creasing normal? Should the crimped leather be something of concern. These are firsts and not seconds

Also this mark on the other captoe, appears to be a bubble

So the lightening of my burgundy shell Leeds is going great, it won't be long now before I test out some acrylic finisher on them. It's been maybe about a month roughly of trying to get them some sun.

After this pic I chose to hit them with some Mac Method and a thin layer of Alden tan paste wax, hopefully to introduce the slightest bit of orange to the color tone over time.

Here they were fresh out of the box

JMM72, the crease on the toe cap isn't an issue of quality, it's an issue of fit. Generally, if the shoes fit properly, there should be no creasing on the toe cap. Occasionally, minor toe cap creasing can happen even when the shoes fit properly, which might be what's happening in your case. If they fit good and feel good, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I'm more concerned about the crimped piece where the cap meets the sole. I had them fit by at an AE store so they fit well.

Hi,

Since I'm unexperienced with dress shoes, are they generally going to feel a little tight when first worn? I tried on Park Avenue and Strands in 9 3E and the strands felt a little tight though the sales associate said they were ok and that 10 was too long. They don't stock 9.5 in this country.

I'm going to be ordering from overseas due to the price and wonder if I should try both at 9.5. The way the PA in 9 felt is a quickly fading memory but I think they felt good. Would that extra .5 change the fit a lot? For what it's worth, when I measured myself I measured 9.5 as did my girlfriend (using AE's download).

I just had my first suit (Navy) and sport coat (grey check) done. They will arrive next week.

Park Avenue in Black seems like the most versatile shoe in it's price range and then strands in walnut look nice. My question is, if I don't have any reason to wear black shoes at the moment, should I just get PA in Bourbon or Brown? They'd pair better with jeans and other casual pants right? I really can't picture how dress shoes look with say, jeans, casual chinos, etc.

Or would it be better to have another pair of shoes that can dress down, and if so, what would you recommend from AE? I like Mora and Sapienza ( I'd like a slip on) but I'm not sure how they'd look if I was wearing say chinos and just a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve button down, or dress shirt, polo, etc.
