I see that Allen Edmonds just added a lot of new styles to their seconds bank, which were not available during their 2-for-$250 sale a week or two ago.  Does anybody know if its possible to return one of the pairs I bought and exchange them for a different color, or a different shoe altogether, that was not available during the sale?

If they're closeouts, they should do it.

For some reason there was a glut of that shoe in most of the sizes I checked. They must have been unpopular, which strikes me as odd since tan pebble/grain longwings is such a classic look.

My last question on the issue was swallowed up by the moderation queue, but does anyone know when to expect that the April sale referenced earlier in the thread will kick off?

Did anyone answer you about the April sale? I'd be curious to know what it entails and when it begins.

Yes. I'm on my phone or I would go check to see who posted it, but the date given was April 11.

This is how the MacNeil in Cognac Dublin looks like in flesh. It's a make up called "Gramercy" AE ran for Urban Daddy in 2012.

The Jefferson has a double sole like the Cambridge but is missing a bit of brouging around the throat that is present on the McAlister and the Cambridge.

All are oxford wingtips on the 5 last.

I noticed that on the aexnet site as well but when I asked the SA at Port Washington about an exchange they provided me the same list with updated inventory. So yeah doesn't seem like they want to unfortunately.

I wasn't really sure which sole I'd like best, so I had my cobbler install some tap soles and rubber toe taps on my other pairs. I'll probably know in a few months which sole is most preferable and which would last the longest.

First, a pic of my test AE pairs (all recently acquired after I found this thread):

With the different soles installed (L-R: Toe taps, OEM combination tap sole, vibram tap sole):

Could anybody tell me what is the color of the left Strand? Bourbon or dark brown? Thanks!

Gorgeous, when did you place the order?  I've ordered mine 2 weeks ago and was told that they would ship by the first week of April.  Hope that mine would come out looking as good as yours.

Those look good. How much was the Vibram tap sole? Been thinking about adding one or two to a new pair. Would like one with the tread like the oem AE one though. Would it be sacrilege to put one over a JR sole?

Just curious, is the upcoming April sale on firsts or seconds? If firsts what are typical discounts, 20-30%?
Thanks!
