Tan Dublin, although it looks darker than the picture online. Mini lug sole. Natural wheeled welt, with white welt stitching.
Exactly what I was after...

I really like how those look and really like the Dublin leather in general.  I don't know if you care or not, and the color is fantastic, but those aren't Tan Dublin.  They are Cognac Dublin.  Cognac is one of my favorites (specifically the McTavish in Cognac).  I'd be very happy with them, but if you asked for Tan and they sent you Cognac, you may be able to request a discount at the very least.

I missed this the first time around -- and agree. For comparison, here are my tan Dublin Bayfields:

Is the an Dublin the same as the tan saddle waxy leather of the Elgin? I asked that the Elgin leather be used on my EC and I'm hoping its a but lighter than the Dublin.

The Tan Dublin is not the same as the Tan Saddle Waxy Leather.  The Elgin and the Stuart are made from the same leathers, and it has a much smoother and almost toffee candy like appearance.  The Tan Dublin is yellower and shows much more grain character.  In general, I'd say that the Tan Saddle Waxy Leather starts out darker than the Tan Dublin.

And sure enough he was able to. Not sure how as he said they were in step 50 with all the other precut shoes i'm sure. Maybe someone cancelled? Either way was able to get them for the clearance price and 20% off so I was happy. Can't wait to get them for the return of warmer weather.

I also got some shell Daltons in the sale in 12C, which I can only guess was an MTO possibly or old size they don't offer anymore. But similar to others I've seen here the only problem I can find is a small tear were the tonque/facing meets the vamp.

I called my SA just tell him I got them and how they looked and to ask about some accessory prices and told him thats all that I found and he told me that if it develops into a big problem to let him know and he'll take care of me. That if even if they didn't have a replacement that he'd get me a pair of 1sts. I was pretty blown away by that. If he indeed could. However I'll see how it holds up.

Other than that I don't think i've even fallen in love with a pair of shoes before. They're just stunning, how do people wear these things outside for the first time. There should be a cologne for that smell too.

After trying them on.

In preparation for opening day I also got some Sand Lots with the Braves "A" on them. a 12 might have been better but the for $19 I think the 11.5's will do just fine.

I've also got some smokey grey long branch's ordered in addition to the suede neumoks. That 20% really took a hit to my wallet. Glad the 2 for $250 got delayed. Give me some time to recover. I've already found some close outs I'd like to snag.

Also I had gotten a sweater on clearance before the 20% and I just called them up and they were able to credit me for it. They've def. won me over.

I called that same store last night and never got a call back, go figure.

Small light mark on shoe

Small separation in the heel.  Looks to just be cosmetic, small knick on heel

Should not be a problem for a local cobbler to fix if it's getting worse.  It'll cost you $10 to return these anyway so save that money toward the repair if needed.

Great looking BB strands.  Enjoy them.

I just read the Wikipedia article on Allen Edmonds.

Is it too much to ask @MoneyWellSpent to rewrite it?

I would just keep them, the sole can be fixed easily. When I bought my strands (1sts), they were easily seconds after 2 wearings.

EDIT: I see I'm not the only one to notice this pattern. I don't think it's anything nefarious. Everyone starts with PAs and Strands.

I guess it seems like it was just a coincidence. The nature of the questions sounded similar, along with the shoes. But fair enough.

I called around 4:45. Took a while to answer. They had the customer appreciation day going by then so maybe that was why.

MWS, it's always nice to hear you weigh in on matters like this.  Apropos of my writeup this morning of the Elgin and Stewart, I'd love to know more about the Tan Saddle Waxy Leather.  Do you happen to know where it comes from?  I don't see it on Horween's full tannage list but perhaps it's hiding there under some other name.

Related specifically to use with AE, is Saphir Renovateur that much better than VSC?  Especially considering the price/quantity difference.  For those using VSC, where do you order from (US based)?

I was going to pick up some Renovateur today from Hanger Project but now its on back-order.

I've seen both mentioned around here quite a bit so I'm sure going with the cheaper VSC wouldn't be bad...

That's a pretty big debate. A lot of people use both with good results. I hear good things about both, but I don't have either product.

The tan saddle waxy leather is definitely not from Horween. On the review section of the AE website, a representative from AE said that they wouldn't specify where the leather was from. However, they did confirm that it was not from Horween. I just got a pair of Stewart's in the mail, and they had a funny smell to them along with a plastic looking shiny coat. I'm debating whether ot not to keep them. Anyone know how the Stewart's age?
