How does the MacNeil fit compared to Alden Barrie last? I am a 9.5D in Alden LWB.

TIA.

The Leeds are weak? You're weak.

These are the new Leeds. These are the Glengarry Leeds. To you they're gold, and you don't get them. Why? Because to give them to you will be throwing them away. They're for closers.

Sorry. Quoted for awesomeness.

Carry on.

It cooled down enough to wear pants, but I think hashtagging #WhiteShoesAtTheBlackShow might be a bit too bold.

I like that contrast! Personally I like the look. It is just plain wrong to read that it "It cooled down enough" though LOL.

I'm looking forward to finally being able to drain the gas out of the snowblower. Black calf Bayfields and matching dark outfit mourning yet another snow fall. Letting mother nature handle the contrast today:

I've a couple questions about the Park Ave shells.

a) Did AE always have PA shells available? I seem to recall looking at their shell cordovan collection a few months ago and not noticing them.
b) Any issues with PA shell? I was going to go with Carmina (I dislike Alden

), but if there aren't any problems with PA shell, I'd rather save the $400 dollars.
I think the shell PA have been out for close to a year now.

As to issues, some do not care for the short cap on the PA. I like it myself however. And the AE shell usually comes with a fair amount of cream on them. You can clean them up and get a pretty decent shine out of them with a little work. I have shell from AE, Alden, and C&J and feel in the end they are pretty much equal in all aspects. Carmina from the pictures I have seen usually has a very high shine. I wouldn't trade my black shell PA for them however:

Allen Edmonds store is on Chagrin Blvd near Cleveland phone is 216 591 0344 salesman's name was Rick very knowledgable ! Shoes first quality half off at 299 and they had about 14 pairs left

I bought my townley as part of 2 for $250 deal so basically I paid $125 for it. AE SA accidentally included 1st quality townley cordovan on list and AE honored my order. Great shoes. I take all of AE shoes TTS.
SCORE!

Thank you jvc44!

They had one more pair of 10D in stock when I called right before they opened. Rick said the phone was ringing off the hook already. sungmineyo thanks for posting pictures of yours, they look very much like Dark Cognac, ie: Horween #449. And they look very much like a shoe version of the Bayfield. If they would have been the Bayfield in #449 shell I would have walked to Ohio to get them!

No, not too far, but you have inspired OptoDoc to buy a plane ticket to Philly so he can show up on your doorstep to give you a hug and say, "I know exactly how you feel, Al. Exactly how you feel."

You know, I've never been to Philly...

Cold Iron, one of my next purchases will be the brown CXL Bayfields from Lands' End. I sure wish they still made them in black as well.

If you need a break from the snow, the Baton Rouge Blues Festival is tomorrow and the forecast calls for blue skies and mid 70's

For me, a 13E in the 5 last = a 14D in the 1 last (since they don't make 13.5).

I would suggest either an 8 D, 8.5D or 8.5C...I don't know if they still make C widths, though.

If you're confident the 5 last fits you well and are ordering online my first guess would be an 8.5D. If you're not confident about your 5 last fit, try an 8D, as you might actually be a 7.5E on the 5 last.
Thanks for the insight. I'll see if I can order an 8.5C. The fit of 8D in last 5 for me is quite good. My left foot is a bit longer than my right and I do feel that pinky toe ever so slightly hit the cap. But the right fits perfect. I also don't feel any pressure against the ball of either foot so I think the D width is good.

I just got an email from Rick at the AE shop in Cleveland. He asked me to post what he has left of the Cordovan Townley.

Thanks again for the call. All set to ship they are going out now. If you get a second would you post what I have left?
7D - 1 pair
8.5D- 1 pair
9D- 1 pair
10 D- 1 pair
10.5D -4 pair
11 D - 2 pair
12 D- 1 pair

Thanks

Rick

Bueller?

Sorry to be a pain...I can get Carmina's in Korea without a markup but not so AE. A friends mother is flying in from the States and can bring the shoes with her, so I'm getting ready to pull the trigger here.
