I have the Harrison, which is also on the 333 last. The 333 last is a very long and sleek last. I have been told by many that this last caters better to people with longer feet and not a super high instep.

With that said, I went TTS on the Harrison and would, based upon my personal experiences, recommend that you try starting at TTS. I do recommend trying them on if at all possible, but the Rutledge is a beautiful shoe and the lamb skin lining in the Independence Collection is remarkable.

For a company who brags about wanting to hang on to "timeless classics" while offering contemporary, more trendy shoes, dropping its tan, pebble-grained (a/k//a scotch grain) LWB (Macneil) is almost bizarre.  They are a nice compliment to many sport coat and tie combinations and can easily be dressed down farther than that.

Maybe they simply mistakenly placed it under the "clearance" section instead of the "sale"  section higher on the page.  But, they have dropped the Williams LWM as well.  they actualy are using the term "close out" for that one.

Having said that, I wish AE had a tan/walnut smooth LWB or SWB in the 5 or 7 lasts..

Thanks for your input. I would try them on but the stores here have very limited selection and do not carry the Rutledge. I have slight rubbing on my small toe in my Daltons with a D width so I was considering going to an E width but keeping the size the same.

When you say that the 333 last caters to people with longer feet, does that mean that I should consider going half a size down?

Also......what does TTS mean?

Thanks

Very strange.
Just found the walnut MacNeil again, in the clearance section of the website. With very limited size availability.

But it has been deleted from the regular MacNeil page, where just the black shoe is featured.
Glad I got my Brooks Brothers chili MacNeils last year anyway.

Hey everyone, this is my first time purchasing AEs off of Ebay, and just wanted to get some advice on if the condition of these shoes are worth the price. Been going off this guide someone posted on Reddit, but still have trouble seeing the things he talks about. http://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/1jhp8o/a_ridiculously_comprehensive_guide_to_buying_used/

Alternatively, if someone can give me a response in the next hour, I might consider these as well.

For my Canadian friends........

Have anyone been charged duties for their shoes when shipped by Allen Edmonds? I have been told that they will charge me $35 to ship to me in Winnipeg but should I factor gst/pst and duties into my total cost calculations?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NAFTA means no duties on US made goods. So for that you don't have to worry. Personnally I have never been charged taxes but I might just have been lucky.

I received a list from Kelsey at the Jeffersonville outlet for close out factory seconds. The brown Rutledge were on that list. Sizes and quantities are limited.

What madness is this?

Agreed. This seems quite odd. What's the deal?!
