I knew I'd regret not jumping on this bandwagon at that price point! They look fantastic. I'm sure a thin (or thick if needed) insole would take up enough room to tighten up the heel. For me, shoe that are slightly small virtually never work. Stretching has never worked well. However, shoes that are slightly large (the key is slightly) I've always been able to make work with insoles of various thicknesses. My RMW's for instance and Wolverine 1K's get green superfeet insoles. I've made some dress shoes work well with the real thin, cheap, green Spenco Comfort insoles.

They make another out of the same material with a touch of arch support. IIRC, they were about $10.

Mine are also wide in the heel, the only pair out of 8 AE shoes so far. I have a narrow heel to start with and can not wear loafers or slip-ons. However the insoles from another pair of boots did do the trick in my Shell Daltons. Even with custom orthotics sitting on top of them. Thanks once again patrick_b :)

Ordered the Katmai. Came with a free scarf and I wasn't even buying it for that reason.

Hope they turn out well.

Question: Do most people here wear orthotic insoles with their Allen Edmonds or go without?

Just received my Lombards in Walnut. The color is a lot lighter than I expected, however I really like them and they fit perfect.

I purchased them also, I love em. I wear them with navy suit and really like the look. I know they are bluchers but they still work IMO. Also, it's funny you mentioned they fit perfectly b/c a lot of posters (including myself) have stated the executive last is a little narrow.

I've tried doing that before, but it lead to me blank posting 4 times in a row a couple of weeks ago. Basically, the San Marco in Black is $140, the Lombard is shown in Walnut for $140 ( I dont know if thats the only color), Berkshire for $122, Presidio in Black for $122.
Can you post the email? For some reason I get about 3% of the emails AE sends out.

Just got a pair of walnut strands and black fifth aves from the outlet store by my house. They honored their sale of 2 for $300 from two weeks ago. Gotta love AE for their great customer service. These were my first brand new pairs of AE's.
