Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - Page 2278

All this talk of AE Bourbons makes me wanna show off my Bourbon Amsterdams. These were the first run of Bourbon before they made the Bourbon McAllister (which is basically what this is) Have a v tread, which is great for wet sloppy days like today. I love these with grey flannel slacks and my black skull and bones socks. :) These really have an absolutely great shine on them. I use Lincoln brand neutral wax polish. One application over the entire shoe brushed off, then get a spit shine on the toe. I have a few applications on the toe to get the desired look. Looks great, and still has its original color. I get compliments on these almost every time I wear them.

Why does Allen Edmonds make me spend money on myself when I should be buying gifts for others? I'm trying to be good. I really am...

I slip by this problem by forwarding all their sale emails to my kid brother, who is just getting into shoes and gets paid half again what I do. It's easier on my wallet to live vicariously through him. smile.gif

They have mcneil merlot 9.5d for $99 btw...just one pair left.

Who did you place an order with? I just talked to Kristel at J'ville, and she said she can't place the orders for the $99 closeouts until Thursday, until the list will get finalized. She was also skeptical the Aberdeen would go on sale for $99.

I'd love to buy the Eagle County for my dad, but have no idea what size will fit him. Maybe I'll get them in my size, and if that doesn't work I'll just keep them myself and buy him a nice steak.

I just spoke with Kristle at the Jeffersonville store. She said she was off over the weekend, and nobody was suppose to take any pre-orders, and that she can not take any more for the upcoming black friday sale. She also said she has no idea what will be on the list for black friday until the night before. She asked if I would post a PSA on here for SF members. She does't want to mislead anyone, and of course wants to help any customers, but can't promise anything because she does't know.

This is exactly what she told me just earlier today. This is a bummer.

I like brown too, once it ages a bit through wear.  Regarding Bourbon as a leather color, I heard that it starts as Walnut but undergoes a darkening process that includes application of black coloring (but don't hold me to that 100%).  Works for me.

Thanks...unfortunately I havent even worn them yet.  I cherish them so much that, until this point, I have been afraid to even wear them for fear that I may blemish their flawles hue.  Pathetic, I know.  But I keep telling my self Im going to work my way up to actually wearing them one day instead of just taking them out of the shoe bags and staring at them for hours on my bed.

Some day, smh

some day

So should I call to cancel my pre-order and then just order on Black Friday? Because they're not sure if all those shoes would be $99.

Also, on a side note I'm from Canada and from the Jeffersonville store I have to pay the Ohio tax. Does anyone know if Canadians or people from a different state have to pay the WI tax from the shoe bank location?

I guess that's why Kristle isn't replying to my attempt to order/hold shoes for Black Friday.

So, do we race to call or email at the "door busters" time, or what? That sounds unpleasant.

I've never paid Ohio tax for my orders from J-ville. If I recall correctly, there's free shipping and no tax for orders shipped outside of Ohio.

Thanks for posting your first hand experience. I was seriously considering that shoe in spite of just buying a pair of Eagle County boots.

Looks like I can keep my promise about being good a little longer.
