Personally, I love seconds. (Thank you Shoebank!).  It's one of the ways I've been able to afford the # of AE shoes in my arsenal.  Enjoy your shoes...I guess.

How do they mark seconds? I apologize for misinterpreting your tone.

Ordered a pair of 5th Avenues in Black and the Ralph Lauren Saunders in Tan Calf.

Really looking forward to these boots ($150 !!!):

I have a couple that are "older school" than those.  Not sure if they even protect against surges!  :embar:

Thanks; just purchases the last pair of seconds in 9E!

Has anyone tried to return/exchange shoes with the Shoe Bank in Port Washington? Does it usually take a few weeks turnaround?

Great looking shoes. Love the color.

I've already have the Walnut strands so this is going to be very close to it. I'm thinking of the dark brown strands instead.

It's why i'm inquiring as to whether or not anyone has had the pleasure - or displeasure - of meeting them up close.  With a Dalton and Long Branch in the fold, I'm not sweating it. Looks fancy, though...And no shady pull tab on the back!!!!!

Oh...BTW...the bourbon strands:

..Pinking is 'perfectly imperfect' on this pair. The others were just fugly. Just having some fun with extra laces i picked up! Makes 'em look more casual. Opinions?

Brown is ideal for FAs IMO, for your first pair at least. Personally I prefer the McAllisters in Merlot.

The wedge sole on the carson city is driving me nuts. Is it so hard to just put a normal sole on a good looking boot? Here is a totally sweet boot, almost on par with the dalton, and then it has some wacky red brick or china white sole. WHY?! Is this to force us to their more upmarket boots?

I got a pair of Wolverine Krause (made by AE as I am sure you all know) at the Shoe Bank the other day and seem to like them, but think I'd like to pick an "Ask the Audience" option.

I wonder what justifies the steep $555 retail for them? This is at least $67 more than a pair of Indys at the ShoeMart and, fwiw, $57 more than what they retail for at Jcrew. How would you compare them to Indys in terms of style and functionality. On a related note, do you think Krause is redundant if I also have a pair of Wolverine 744LTD?

They must be very busy this time of the year. I'd say it usually takes me about a week and a half. I actually highly recommend the Freeport store. They are much more helpful than the folks at the Port Washington store and the turnaround is super-fast. I am in NJ and I usually get stuff the next day.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Redundant is subjective.

I personally like them, and don't believe they are.

I thought about the rust ones.

I don't have much of an opinion about pricing.

They are priced in line with cxl cap toes from Alden.
