I wonder if it was any different than the burgundy (or how it compares).

Can you post a pic or link to the old catalog?

It looks a lot like the new burgundy shell to me.

Same here. If I was trying to replicate, I would just use Burgundy.

Does anyone know what shoe polish AE recommends for the Dark Chocolate Daltons?

A little better pic of my Merlot Macneil webgems today on their maiden voyage.  Not sure if I'm doing right with Navy pants but it is what it is.  The color on these are gorgeous.  In some lights red in others purple.  Something about them makes me hungry for Steak and a glass of Red Wine.

Here is one of the shell Macneils.

Search for AE shoe care 101 there's a PDF with all of the recommended products by shoe and colour.

Seriously. Those almost remind me of the ruby I bought for my wife's engagement ring. Someday twenty years down the road, I hope my MacNeils look like that -- maybe I should start keeping them on the windowsill when I'm not wearing them to let the sun do its work...

Just notice that the bourbons are 15% off sale on AE site (FIFTHS, PAs, Strands, Mora 2, Kenniworths, and McAllisters) at $295

I had an admittedly gin-induced dream of an email from Allison telling me MTOs were done and looked great and were on the way. It was so... So vivid.

Is it just me or is the Strand in bourbon the only style that has a darker shade of brown vs the other models in bourbon?

For example, the Kenilworth in bourbon doesn't look as dark as the Strand.

Those look awesome. Do they only do Burgundy Macneils in cordovan? I'd love to get a pair myself, but I can't justify spending more than $300/pair on my budget.
