@YoungSweet,
Usually I do a coat neutral cream polish followed by several coats of kiwi used in conjunction with tiny water droplets and my own breathe. Then I finish off buffing with pantyhose over a brush. Generally i try to use as little water and wax polish as possible.

Jerry-May I ask what color of kiwi polish do you use?  I use the AE walnut polish in the tube and it's getting more orange after each polish.

I use the brown polish. It has darkened the shoes somewhat which looks better than the regular walnut in my opinion.

Specs per my invoice:

*CAPPUCCINO SHELL CORDOVAN
*TONE ON TONE STITCHING
*BROWN LEATHER INSOLE
*CHILI SPLIT REVERSE WELT
*LIGHT BROWN EDGE FINISH
*DOUBLE BUTYL OUTSOLE
*AE TOPLIFT

In terms of the shell color, they look a bit darker to my eye than what's pictured on my monitor. RE: the edgetrim, I was confused after all the recent edge-trim discussions. I didn't want something as light as natural but I did want some contrast. I ended up with exactly what I'd hoped for.

Brutus was intrigued. He's grown fond of the scent of shell.

*I just added the last image and it's much closer to the actual color to my eye.

The only thing I'd consider a negative is that I don't know if I'll ever wear my old burgundy shell Leeds now that I have these biggrin.gif.

These are great.

I hope this isn't a stupid question - but how do you go about starting a custom order about this?  I thought I read earlier that you had to contact Paul Grangaard - is that still the method?

Thanks!

They have assigned Allison to handling our MTOs. I will send you her info in a PM.

My Ravello's purchases are as follows (since I am not sure which one specifically you are asking about).

-Leisure Handsewn - The Shoe Mart - from the recent deadstock

-Leisure Handsewn - The Shoe Mart - ordered back in the February timeframe

-Norwegian Split Toe - The Shoe Mart - few years old

-Longwing Blutcher - Alden DC - Pre-ordered in January, received in September.

Hope that this helps!

The only 'issue' is that you seem to have a lot of 'doubles'. I.e. shoes with exactly the same use. You have two pairs of black wingtip oxfords, one in cord and one in calf. If one of those is for work and the other is a town shoe, then fine, but otherwise... why? That's a criteria I might apply. But as others have said, if they both make it through the rotation then no worries.

I would probably have more boots if I was you :p

Does anyone have more info on these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allen-Edmonds-Bancroft-/251357561929?nma=true&si=t4Hz4gHl7%252FWco9bW4IaFX3ExnSU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557? The seller said they where made for the international market. Beautiful shoes.

Any chance AE can/will do something for seconds? If not, could a cobbler? I realize that I can't get much advice before showing pics...

Here're pics of my poor torn Daltons. Any thoughts on what if anything can be done for them?

If the pull tab is all that ripped, I think you're okay, man. Breathe easy. It won't be seen with pants covering it, and a cobbler would be able to put a new, albeit not matching, pull tab.

I picked these 2nds up over the weekend (neumoks). They are outstanding.

A couple of questions: the website says they are double soled, but they look kinda thin. I've taken a sole profile shot. Some of my double soled shoes look a lot thicker.

Also, the website says they come with the butyl sole. I've only seen one other butyl sole in person and it looked much darker and seemed to be grease infused. This one looks a little lighter in color. Thanks in advance.

What's the cost of a MTO McClain Bourbon and Bone?
Never even see them come up on ebay.

Maybe even Merlot and Bone would be good.

They will be $345.00 through Allison. I sometimes wish I had gotten the Merlot and Bone combination. I think they would look outstanding with navy and gray. The Bourbon and bone looks sharp, too. These are some nice spectators.

The color varies a good bit with the Butyl soles, but that is what you have there.  That is a single sole, not a double.  Their website needs to be corrected.  I don't think the Neumok ever had a double sole.
