I've not tried on the 333 last before, I only have Park Aves and Strands. How different is the sizing?

It's too long and narrow for me. I would try it on in store if you can. I wear an 11E in the PA; the best fit I could find in the 333 was a 10.5EEE, but I couldn't cope with the cramped toe box.

Independence Rutledge today with my new soul socks. Learn about them at www.soul-socks.com. It is a cool sock of the month club.

If this can be done—well, there went next year's tax refund... so much for visiting family and friends in Europe. lookaround.gif

Unboxing my burgundy shell Macneils last week (2nds).  Other than a small dimple on one of the wings, these are great!

two weeks later, received the shoe and only one Shoe tree...contacted them and they sent me another one for their mistake. A week later, I received a size SMALL shoe tree and there was only one inside...last I remember they do sell shoes in pairs right....complete mess...

Very disappointed with their service and last time I will ever order from Allen Edmonds via phone or online..

Would you like some cheese?

Love the Rutledges!

Ordered the Merlot Macneils Webgems.  Time for more shoe storage.

Replacing the tweed with calf leather. Basically, a simple plain-toe boot.

I emailed Allison to see if this is possible.

Ask Allison if they could do the cap toe from a PA on to the boot instead of the brogued fifth street one? There was talk of a medalionless strand earlier, not a non-brogued strand

Ah thanks, got my terms mixed up again.  Yes, cap toe without the medallion on the fifth street would be great. Saw some samples of this in a thread from 2010 or 2011 before the fifth street got a wide release, and they look great!

I'm assuming others have seen the free belt with an Independence purchase? I am currently dealing with getting my Webgem Jeffersons replaced and I'm hoping they might throw me a bone and honor that deal that's going on. I really would like a belt that matches my walnut shoes. I don't love the manistee belt (too matchy with strands), so what would you guys recommend? I have heard there's weirdness with the walnut belts vs walnut shoes?

Let us know what you hear back.

Also, other brands likely offer something like you're talking about, but I don't know of a specific example. Maybe others can chime in.

Can anyone speak to how they compare with these from Jos. A. Bank?

Hey Gang,

I know this is off topic, but there are clearly a lot of thoughtful enlightened people on this thread whose input I would seriously appreciate.

I'm getting married in May 2014 and our color scheme is grey, yellow, and purple.

I was wondering if anyone has some ideas of good color schemes I could wear in terms of my shirt and tie. My suit will be some shade of grey. The easy obvious choice is just a white shirt with a purple or yellow tie (thinking I'll have my groomsmen all wear one color, and I'd wear the other). Maybe that is the best idea, but are there are any other shirt colors that might be worth considering?

Also, any sub-$500 off-the-rack suits that are wedding worthy (would take to a tailor of course)? I'm about 6' 220 with wide shoulders. I usually wear a 44r, sometimes a 46 depending on the cut. If I have to I'll shell out the $ for a custom-made suit, but if there are some good OTR options, I'd rather put that money into something else.

Finally, what shoes would you go with? Black or Walnut Strands?

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if the AE store in the Stamford CT mall closed?  It's not listed on the AE website anymore...
