What are your thoughts on this seconds Larchmont? Would you keep or exchange for another pair?

If that's the main problem, then I'd keep them.

I think this is fine too. Keep in mind that this part of the shoe (eyestays and the quarters) will be mostly covered by your pants.

Well, the Jefferson, McAlister, and Cambridge are all broged wingtip oxfords on the #5 last but there are subtle differences.

The Cambridge (only available in shell) is a double sole with broging around the "collar" of the shoe.

The McAlister is a single sole with broging around the collar.

The Jefferson is a double sole but has no broging around the coller.

(I have all three  :)  )

Me too, but it won't be until perhaps late November.

Hey guys, would you pick up a pair of Jefferson first quality or shell Mcallisters in second quality considering they are the same price. My birthday is coming up and my girlfriend is allowing me to pick my own gift :) Also in the mix is a pair of first quality Rutledge, but is this too dressy to pair with chinos?

I decided on alden burgundy shell boots instead . I guess I've gone over to the dark side.

Yep, I think we all got the MacNeils. Whoever gets them first, please post the pictures! Can't wait to see them in flesh.

Thanks for the input, VinnyMac and MacktasticGDogg.

I guess I'll keep them then. :)

Yup. Was just commenting on the fact that other models in calfskin and shell with similar differences don't have different names (park Ave, macneil, etc.).

Jealous of you for having all three. I'm looking at either Cambridge or Jefferson for my next purchase. Just ordered some shell Macneils so I'll have to wait just a little bit. smile.gif

Would those burgundy shell boots go with black pants? Burgundy shoes in general really.

I second this. Black pants or suit require black shoes.

IMO merlot is the most versatile color of shoe, though.
