By the way, Shirley at the Shoe Bank was nice enough to take my order in advance of the sale and process it tomorrow night or Thursday morning so I would be sure to get what I was looking for. Worth a shot for you fellas to do the same if you wanted anything you know will be included in this sale that starts the 19th. Good luck!

Nice. They were surprisingly strict this time. Neither J'ville nor Shoebank sent me the list of seconds in advance, leave alone let me place an order (I talked to Shirley at the Shoebank and Kristel at the J'ville outlet). However, they were happy to do so before the Labor Day sale. Not sure what has changed.

As JS said, the lines of the brogueing and their spacing from the welt which are what he outlined in the red boxes.  The only way for that to really happen is that when the uppers were lasted, they weren't properly aligned on the last.  It's not a huge deal, unless if becomes distracting to the eye.  It doesn't affect longevity of the shoe.  The ones that the OP showed are acceptable for seconds, but definitely not for firsts, in my opinion.

Thanks guys, didn't pick that much at all!

Question regarding the two for $250 sale. Would I be able to order one pair at $125 ? Or does it have to be the two for $250 ?

Does this sale that is $250 include Canada? I missed the conversation about it

When I got home from work today my new olive Ridgeways that I ordered this past weekend were waiting for me.  That was fast.  My only gripes:  Just the one pair of blue laces included--no second pair in tan.  They are slightly lopsided, not quite as bad as tietherope's suede Neumoks but still not symmetrical.  I'll keep them.  I just checked the clearance page at the AE website and it looks like they are all out of the special Ridgeways in both red and olive in every size--they're gone and they went fast.

I'd rather exchange them for 12D once they get that size in stock. Could you call and ask to put you on a waiting list?

Sadly this is what I was expecting to hear. I was also thinking it in the back of my mind. That's why I haven't worn them yet. The only crappy part is that I live in Canada, so it will cost me $40ish to return the shoes, followed by $50 to ship out a replacement. I'll call them tomorrow and see what we can have arranged. Thanks for the insight guys

There's no duty as they are made in the USA and I've only been hit with taxes once (Shoebank shipments were always marked at lower values whereas Jeffersonville listed the full value).

$250 to Canadian call it $260
$260+13% HST= $293.80
Add $45 shipping from Jville, call it $47 CDN = $340.80

The other week I needed a size changed and they offered free shipping to me if I paid to ship the small ones back. Cost me $26 from Toronto to Jeffersonville.

If this is of any help, Superfeet Black insoles may work for dress shoes/boots. I tried them one on the shoes which similarly had a wide fit and the fit became acceptable, but still not comfortable enough. I ended up returning both shoes and insoles. You might have better luck with the boots though--give it a shot.

I was making an attempt at being funny to ridicule how getting decent things in Canada is much more expensive, but yes that pricing is correct.
