Hey guys,

Will applying conditioner cleaner loosen the leather of my shoes? What I mean is, the Strands that I have are squeaky when walking, like the leather is tight.

Anyone experience that?

AE recommends the Full-Toe trees on their shoes. For other shoes, they recommend the Split-Toe. Here's their video on this:

My Strand cordovans have arrived earlier today. I always knew I need to go one width up on the 5 last, but all 9.5E were sold out, so I gave a shot to 9.5D, keeping in mind that the fit of the shell might be different from the calf (I remember a SA having told me a while ago that the shell shoes tend to be roomier). To my great surprise, they ended up fitting perfectly! I also haven't been able to discern any visible imperfections (the pictures are coming).

Did you go TTS with respect to length?

Any body purchase the Mora 2.0 yet in Bourbon?

I am really curious as to how these look in person. If anybody has seen them in person or could provide pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

A buddy of mine came across these for sale on Etsy earlier.  Anybody have any details on the model name and year these were made?

Yes, I got my usual length. No sizing down lengthwise.

Nordstrom is carrying an new PTB called the Fort Collins.  Haven't seen it on AE's site or the Fall catalog.  Appears to be on the 333 last.

Wow. Very European. If they had a thinner 'waist' I'd swear they were.

I've seen it on the seconds list where it is listed as a Nordstrom shoe. Didn't bother to look up pics before, but I like it a lot actually.

These look identical to an old pair of saddles I have called "oakmont"... The pair I have have a more walnut tone to the leather on the saddle, but the overall look is the same...

I have a quite a few pairs of Daltons and if I received these as seconds, I would keep them.  If they fit well and are comfortable (have you tried on Daltons before?), they will develop creases as they wear and as you say, most of the quarters will be covered.

No, first Allen Edmonds ever. I think I will keep them.

Yes, Nordstroms CS is one of the best.  There was one time I bought shoes, had oversoles installed and wore at least 3 times.  Eventually I couldn't wear anymore because they hurt my feet.  My wife said, return them.  I was flabbergasted by the idea.  But she volunteered to be the one to bring it to the store and return.  Sure enough, it was accepted without any issues.  That's why I never throw away my Nordstrom's receipt!

I think you will not regret this decision.  You will come across another Dalton deal.  Just be patient.
