OK, I dont think the Shobank will be open, but some of the outlets(not sure if all, but know some) will be open early morning for the 20/30% sale on the regular priced shoes(does not include the current sale on the seconds(which is what I was asking about). You can call the store most local to you(and participating in the mornign sale) and have them ship to you(in most cases free shipping - and tax free). This was the information told me by a retail outlet employee this morning.

Anyone get any more info about Black Friday sale? Will the Shoe Bank in WI be open at 3 AM?

I certainly hope they won't be open at 3am, shoe store employees should not have to work these kind of hours to serve us customers. If AE is making employees work at 3am, shame on them - they should be allocating the extra hours towards factory QC instead. This whole Black Friday store hour thing has become completley asinine, just like the customers that demand to shop these hours...

I'm torn on what pair of shoes to get.....currently I've got this in rotation:

For business dress (suit & tie):
AE Strands in walnut
Johnston Murphy cap toe's in black (balmoral)
Johnston Murphy burgundy mid-wings

For business casual:
AE Dalton's in walnut
AE Bayfields in brown CXL

I'm thinking about a pair of dark brown AE Fifth Ave's since I don't have any dark brown in rotation, or possibly the Delray in dark brown, or the Kenilworth in bourbon, or the McCalister in black, or the Larchmont (long wing) in black or dark brown......any thoughts?

I'm in a suit 2-3 days a week and a sport coat the rest of the week, and the shoes that consistently get the most wear are my brown captoe, black captoe, brown Delrays, brown Malverns and Walnut Strands. Since you already have two pairs of walnut casual shoes, brown boots and a black captoe, I think you need a versatile dark brown shoe like the Delray or Kenilworth. If you wear suits regularly, I would then make a brown captoe your next shoe.

What color cream are you guys using for walnut? I tried light brown, too light, I'm thinking neutral is my only choice.

Very good points. I'm in a suit 4x minimum per week, and business casual 1 day per week unless I have a client meeting on Friday. I love the Delray and the Kenilworth, but I'm not sure if they would look right with a suit, which is why I'm leaning towards the Fifth Ave. I think the Delray's would look more appropriate with a suit than the Kenilworth, which I think looks fantastic with biz casual or jeans.

I was originally using the light brown cream from AE, but now I use the light brown cream and wax from Saphir.

Delrays are fine with a suit, but I personally prefer a brown captoe. If you're in a suit 4-5 days a week, you may want to consider a brown captoe before you get a pair of Delrays. Notice how I've never referred to the Fifth Avenues by name? That's because it's my least favorite AE due to that short, stubby captoe.

Not sure if you (or anyone else) know the answer to this, but would Allen Edmonds refuse to recraft a shoe if there was a (non-AE) Topy on the sole? I'm assuming not, since this is a fairly minor alteration, but figured I would ask in case anyone had had a topy'd shoe recrafted.

I've been told by customer service that a topy will not void recraftability. Resoling with an outside cobbler definitely will. I can't remember if a re-heel will, but I'm thinking it does.

Ask AE before doing anything. I called today to ask this question because the rubber/danite portion of the heel on my Malverns is peeeling off. I assumed it would be no big deal to have a cobbler re-glue it back on, but the customer service rep was adamant that I needed to send them back to AE to handle if I did not want to risk losing my recraft option. Granted, she may ultimately be wrong, but better safe than sorry.

I hear ya. The cap toe on the fifth ave/park ave is short, but it doesn't bug me as much as it does some others. I've got a long narrow foot, though (11B), so maybe it looks different to me.....ultimately, I think I may go the Delray route in the brown burnished calf as it looks good with a suit, as you say, business casual and I could see it working with a nice pair of jeans, as well.

I just sent my Daltons back to have the tongue fused and the topy didn't affect anything. Now, if you have an issue with the sole or heal and a topy has been applied, I could see that making a difference.

Outlet stores that are in various outlet malls across the country will follow their respective outlet mall's BF hours. The Shoe Bank, however, will follow normal store hours.

Sorry, what is this current sale you are referring to?

I guess I will just be calling an outlet which will be open on Black Friday at 3 AM.

I have a pair of Delrays in Chili Burnished, which I quite like (I work in a business casual environment). I was close to getting them in brown burnished, but the brown burnished looked a lot darker to me in person than it does on the AE website (YMMV). That being said, a brown burnished Delray would probably be a pretty versatile shoe, although maybe a little too dark for my tastes to wear with jeans, etc.
