This might be terrible advice, but start hunting for your next pair.  Takes your mind off of it, and then eventually voila it shows up.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. About to pull the trigger on one or two MTO's but really wanting my Bayfields. I feel like if I could just get a straight answer about their status it would be as bad. A month ago they were in final finishing, then a week later they had not been started and would be a few weeks and now I have asked three times just for an update and can't seem to get it...

Weirdest thing ever:   a pair of walnut shell Bayfields arrived today.  I never ordered them, but they're perfect and my size. How in the world does something like that happen?

Where the awesome looking bayfields posted last week the shell or regular version?  THese have been on my mind a bit since seeing those.

Hey - are AEs stitches aloft like Loakes or do they have a beveled sole like C&J and Trickers?

Stitched aloft, but it doesn't affect the durability of the soles, mainly an aesthetic thing when new.

c&j shoes don't have beveled sole. Or I haven't seen a pair with beveled sole .

couple questions/comments:

just got a pair of strands yesterday - they were a 9.5E , fit me just like my 10D park avenues.  is this strange?  should my 10D park avenues be 9.5Es?

first time ever at an allen edmonds standalone yesterday; not surprised how i walked out of there without blowing my entire paycheck.  with the salesman there and selection, not sure if i ever want to bother with online purchasing again.  the salesman brought out 3 or 4 pairs in different widths and configurations, never flinched, with a smile the whole time.

My 10D Fifth Avenues fit almost exactly the same as my 9.5E Park Avenues.  So, your experience with your Strands and Park Avenues sounds familiar, red81.

If I'm a 9.5D in 5th ave, PA and Strands, am I the same size in the Daltons as well? Itching to add another pair...

Are AE stores matching Nordstrom prices at the moment or do we have to wait until the AS starts for the general public next week?

Thanks,
