First time posting. I have been following this thread for a while and ordered a pair of Boardroom seconds from Jville. I received it today and notice the straight creases on the left shoe and was wondering if I should return.

Thanks for the insight Spex, let's hope i'll be in a similar situation!

E-mailed the store to get a status update on the shipping and they replied they had to contact the warehouse... it's almost been 3 weeks already and still no updates, this is getting a little too long.

Those who have their walnut shell orders in are lucky. I tried to order a Leeds last week and was told no additional walnut orders are being taken for the time being. They have to wait and see how much leather is left after cutting the current orders. Fingers crossed there is enough for one more pair!

Hi guys,

Quick sizing question , I'm no AE expert and the only shoe I have is a Neumok , I'm looking at buying a PA , and will like to know if I should go with the same size as the Neumok since both shoes are made on the same last , but Neumok is unlined so not sure.

Also is it normal for these to run very narrow ? , I'm normally a D in Alden and other shoes and had to go with a EE on the Neumok , even the E was tight.

Thanks,

I have a pair of snuff suede Neumoks and a pair of bourbon McAllister's (same last and fit as the PA's).  To me, the Neumoks seem slightly 'looser' given that they are unlined.  However, this difference does not seem to justify two different sizes - I wear an 11E in each and the fit is perfect.  On the Brannock device I measure at an 11.5 in between a D and E width with a high instep.  On the AE #5 and #3 last I wear an 11E and the fit is perfect, largely due to my instep.  I tried an 11.5E and it was too loose and caused back pain.  Hope this helps!

Given the great luck I've had with my second I would likely return those due to (1) the location of the 'error' on the shoes being so prominent, and (2) I believe this shoe is quite popular (assuming similar in popularity to the PA, although I could be wrong) which implies that it won't be too difficult to snag a different pair of seconds soon.

Thanks gents.  I've been very happy with these boots - very comfortable and supportive.  And they have held up very well.  I can't say I've abused them - no mucking through swamps or anything - but they have definitely seen more than city use and are a go-to winter boot as well.

I bought McAllisters and worn them three times. My left shoe is just fine. My right shoe on the other hand makes a weird noise while walking, during the flex to be precise. It's not a squeeking sound to point issues with the leather. I hear air puffing out of the shoe noise and gives a little extra bowing while flexing and making this noise.

Any idea, tips ?

Thanks much.

P.S : I have PAs and they are perfectly fine.

Exact same issue here! Right shoe, brand new McAllister, puff of air. Mine are the combo v sole. Yours?

Those of you wanting the shoes, AE offers the Nathan (FA on 8 last) and Boardroom (PA on 7 last) for $129 during their sales.

When/where is this sale?

Would either of you gentlemen happen to have a picture of the burgundy belt, preferably with the shoes? I've been on the fence about ordering from Narragansett for a few weeks and with shipping costs to Canada I'd like to make the best decision on purchase #1.

I currently have this burgundy belt, which matches very well. This belt was picked up by someone else on a shopping trip to Buffalo as Canada only sells black and brown belts in store apparently (aside from Brooks Brothers which is too expensive).

And then this is my belt for my walnut Strands from Zelikovitz Leathers. It does not match well, but they are local and shipping was free.
