What's the scoop on the new high end line? It looks comparable to Crockett Jones benchgrade or AE for RL

^ Or more importantly how long before they have seconds.

I would be very interested if the price point is comparable to C+J... and if they use a more suitable welt for any oxfords in the collection. (The relevant Buy/Sell thread, including the "Rush" model from the forthcoming Independence Collection, is here)

Elgin, McTavish, New Orleans, Park Avenue, and Sanford. Sorry for the poor quality on the second photo, it was taken from outside looking in. If you look closely you can see a number of Strawfut models in the top left of the second photo.

Strawfut in brown. Arrived this past week. One shot with flash, one shot without. These are very comfortable immediately out-of-the-box. There might be a bit of break-in necessary in the instep, but I'm not sure they can get any more comfortable. Any recommendations on caring for the mesh?

I sent in my AE Moras for recrafting, but I wanted a Dainite sole put on instead of the regular leather one. I called AE. They said they could do this and to note it on the form that accompanies the shoes. Shoes came back quickly, but with no Dainite sole.

I really wanted the Dainite sole because I think it will last longer and therefore help extend the life of these shoes, which as we all know are discontinued. Plus, it will make them more versatile for wet weather.

How should I approach this with AE?

They seem to be a company that values a good reputation. If you discussed it with them and they didn't deliver, I think you should certainly give them a call.

As with any customer service issue, you should approach it politely yet firmly, and tell them what you want, such as them covering the shipping and no additional cost to you to get what you originally specified.

Wipe over with damp cloth. The stuff is indestructible if it is anything like the stuff they used in the 50s on a pair of my vintage shoes.

Can someone help with sizing for me? I wear a 9 in Red Wings 1907 boots (they measured me at the store), 9 in Clarks DBs (a bit loose but comfortable), 9.5 in Nike Air Max, Jordans (9 is too tight). I have some dress shoes in size 8.5 that feel tight (not bad), but I was wondering if I should be wearing a 9 instead. Thank you for your time.
