Do you mind providing more details on the Jos A Bank versions you got?  I have always liked the idea of getting these shoes on those lasts, but haven't ever had a chance to see them in person.  None of the Jos A Bank stores near me carry them in the shop.  Do you mind saying how much they were, and posting photos?

Not sure if I will keep them. What does everyone think?

I can live with the blemishes and maybe the damaged area, but not sure about the bad stitching.

I'd keep them as well. That's why they're seconds right? Still a good lookin' shoe. Nice purchase

I actually prefer the single, but anyone else notice this?
Me too, and I also noticed that when they changed to a single sole on the black, they changed it to matching solid black, rather than the former brown/natural. J

Not sure if this was answered but PA seconds are $199 right now, and I think they'll be $219 or so, during the Anniv sale, for firsts. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. J

Different lasts. Quality is the same.

The bad stitching also seems to be in the heel. It will rarely be showing and I would never see it while wearing the shoe. It would not bother me.
+1. I'd keep them

Agree. I think blucher wingtips can look great with a double sole; it's one of my favorite features of my MacNeils. J

Quick question that might seem ridiculous, but I'm a newbie.

Are the shoes coming from the tent sale firsts or seconds?  I would guess they are seconds?... But when I ordered my bourbon Kenilworth, she told me it would take 1-2 weeks (I'm in Canada) because they had to be soled or something (didn't quite catch everything she said as the reception where I was quite bad).

They are seconds. From my personal experience, with the tent sale, buying two pairs of shoes each was shipped from a different location and at a different speed. Perhaps the soles of the shoes you are purchasing were damaged and have to be replaced before shipping? You could always e-mail or call them. I found the shoe bank to be very responsive during business hours.

That does seem like a strange comment, weird.

Tent Sale shoes are seconds.

Sorry, but I guess you missed my original post with which styles and prices were being offered.

Good evening gentlemen,

I have to ask the members of this forum (even senior members) to please not start another pointless argument.

It is really disappointing, especially to newbies like me. The last time there was some "acidity" going on in the forum, I honestly almost quit.

The world is already full of sadness, violence and rage.
Let us all try and please keep these pages as friendly as possible.

I ask this for the sake of our passion for shoes and all the good things in life.

Thank you for reading and understanding,

Max

Yes, it is the nature of a loafer to reply more on the heel than on the upper laced dress shoe.  There are remedies, such as this link:  CLICK HERE

Enjoy your week,
