As for the people suggesting shell, I'm not at the point yet where I can justify the purchase of shell yet unfortunately, so I'm sticking with calf!

The Manager at Nordstrom's Department Store I spoke to the other day personally has 90 pair of high quality brands of shoes for himself.  The brand he wears most often when he is on his feet each day are ECCO dress shoes.  He recommends them for very, very good comfort - when not wearing Allen Edmonds shoes>

I just received a pair of strands from the tent sale. They are definitely beautiful shoes, but like all 2nd qualities, there some blemishes. The stitching appears to be off with my shoe. Will this impact the quality of the shoe as I wear it more often? I don't want the sewn-in stitching to be coming out one by one from the holes. By the way, the error on the stitching is on the inside, so it doesn't really affect the shoe's aesthetics as much as one may think. It's really very subtle unless you stare at it. I'm more concern with the on-going construction of the shoe, as I don't want the beautiful pattern to fall apart.

Most regular folks notice the shine (or lack of it), rather than the small pimples.   My first glance at your collection conveyed the stewardship you may attention to in the overall appearance.

Nice collection!

Nice collection!

Thanks, I just gave them a quick bath in AE Conditioner and a quick wipe with a towel. I need to get some walnut polish before I really shine them up, so far I'm very happy, especially at the tent sale price.

Job security for her, my wife buys 95% of her clothes there. Can't complain though, the clothes and she both look great.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Looks like some pretty serious gaping on the inside of the left shoe. And are you sure you're buying the correct size? Looks like close to an inch(!) of space between the left and right sides of the vamp, when ideally they should be nearly touching when tied. Otherwise, beautiful collection! I'm trying to decide between walnut and bourbon strands as my next AE purchase...

I agree with the above, looks like there is some gaping in the shoe which might result in heel slipping.

it was the first time I wore them and They weren't completely tied (tighten) but I noticed in the picture too.

When I originally bought the black 5th aves I remember being annoyed I couldn't find the same fit as my Hales.

These are 7.5EEE and I remember trying on sizes around there and this was the best, although the fit on my Hales is amazing, like a sock.
