Thx for your feedback. I hope that is the case for me as well. I ordered snuff suede instead of the tan.

Great look forward to your feedback.

Which color is more versatile snuff or tan? Do you think the snuff would be a good spring/ summer color?

I went to my local Patrick James to look at their choices for AE shoes. They didn't have anything in my size but they mentioned that there was an Allen Edmonds store in San Francisco. I'm not sure why, but all my searches for AE shoes in my area only brought up Nordstroms and Patrick James. I'll be heading to AE in San Francisco next weekend(I work two 12s this weekend) to try on shoes, very excited.

As you might see in the pics I feel like the back of the shoe doesn't hug my heel. When I walk my heel does not pop out at all but the side and back areas of my ankle doesn't feel like the leather is hugging it, if I'm making sense. Could this be because they were worn by someone else and in time the leather will form to my foot shape? Maybe I should try on a 9.5 or instead of 10D get a little narrower shoe or maybe it's just the way they fit. Please advise

You can fine tune the fit by installing a tongue pad which will push your foot into the heel pocket.

The tan is more striking the snuff more versatile IMO. The tan tends more to a light grey def s/s

From what I understand, most people tend to size down for the McTavish. That said, mine fit true...

Wearing my Bentons around the house to see if I want to keep them or not. However, I noticed that my orthotic is just wide enough that it pushes on the instep of the shoe. You can see that here highlighted by the lighting in the shot. That bulge midstep right below the brouging is the instep of my orthotic. Do you think this would become more and more of a problem as I wore the shoe and that it would continue to deform the shoe? I can't imagine getting a wider shoe as that would make the already comfortable fit become quite loose.

My RL Sanderson came in today and I love the color more then the williams. Now before any one asks there will be no photos today. Just so you know why I will tell a little story. First I opened the box and thought to myself I bet the SF guys would love to see them. I grab my iPhone and then thought shoot lets break out the high end canon dslr. Well if I'm going that far why not get my wife's photography light's she uses in portraits and her back grounds. All the shoes lovely displayed and then she walks in with a look like I just caught you watching porn. Then she asks what are you doing to which I answer taking photos of my shoes so I can share them with the fine gentlemen of SF. That's when I catch my mother in-law laughing at me. My wife with a look I can't describe says have you not brought upon us enough shame.

I literally chuckled loud enough that a stranger gave me a funny look like I was crazy. Sounds like something I would do

Is there a seconds sale going? I read someone saying $159/pair?

tbh, I'm not sure what the current discount/percentages etc are.. i just email Kristle and ask if they have my size in a particular model and then ask her to call me with a total and to get my CC details. love how easy she is to deal with smile.gif

I salute you, sir. Your dedication to SF is both noteworthy and commendable. Be proud. Be very proud.
