Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - Page 1353

Long time lurker, first time poster in this thread. Some great info in here, and am especially impressed by the CEOs active participation.

Walnut shell strands today. I'm amazed at the minimal amount of creasing, after 1.5 yrs of wear (at least 1x-2x per week).

Wow those are great!

I love saving money, but something about buying firsts from the store really feels good. I feel like a man knowing what I want and willing to pay the full price. Part of me also likes paying full price knowing that I am supporting workers' in Port Washington best work. Excited to wear this shoe and remember when and why I bought them.

Congratulations on the passing of the bar exam.  Perhaps you already have a law firm lined up - or you are planning on a career as an FBI agent.  Either way - your past 8 years in jurisprudence to obtain your J.D. is commendable.  (You will never think the same!)

My old boss, Jim Rohn, said, "Get a long list of things you want - even if they are only a wish list - and the "reasons" over time to do better and earn more will open the doors for you.  Don't be afraid of paying full price.  Make it a worthy goal, and you will not find yourself saving for a trip to Japan to buy a discounted Nikon camera."

Okay . . . I am drooling.  Hopefully you did not take the last pair.

If you want a custom MTO without the up charge than email Paul and see what they can do for you.

I emailed the CEO this morning, and, as stated earlier in this thread, got an email response from him less than 90 minutes later. I was contacted by phone some 2.5 hours later by a very nice lady from HQ - tried me on my cell and my work number. I was unavailable. I called her back just after the lunch hour and proceeded to place my custom order for $595. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

She also was aware of, and inquired about, the 2 pairs I have currently at AE for recrafts (keep in mind she doesn't even work in the recraft dept.). Since I had given special instructions for my recrafts, she was going to personally confirm said special instructions were attached to my orders.

Above and beyond the call of duty IMO.

I am definitely suffering from that already. I really want Shell Daltons even though I know they wouldn't work for me.

AE customer service is seriously so good. I picked up 4 pairs for my brothers and I during the sale this past weekend. I don't even feel bad about spending the money.

I am glad you lurked right on by this time with a photo.

What do you use and how do you maintain the shine and condition of your shoes?

Okay - we now know.

These Allen Edmonds "Seven Hills Chocolate Suede" shoes - which were never formally released to the public for sale.   Samples were made, and some ended up on the internet for sale in the area of $200.00

The AE Web site has the current styles titled Sedona and Flagstaff - both for $195 shipped and under warranty - and in five (5) colors and shades

Now I'm not sure what to think as I've emailed twice with not much success about this mto offer. I'm hesitant to email a third time as I feel like I'm just being overly pushy or rude.

I have to echo was SFTG said I received a response fairly quickly, a couple of days later. They immediately sent out samples of the two shell offerings I was considering. I haven't received them yet but I believe cappuccino will win out.

NEW - COMING FROM ALLEN EDMONDS THIS FALL:

THE GRIDIRON - by Allen Edmonds

As seen on the current AE Catalog - this style will become available this fall.  Looks like a very nice addition to any wardrobe.

(Love that straight-laced presentation look too - instead of the cross-laced alternative)

Just call him at 262-235-6667 (his direct line).  Yes, you will hear the voice greeting of his administrative assistant answering his extension - but I am confident he will return you call within a few business days.

And if you leave a detailed message - then perhaps he will make sure your call is returned by his Admin.

All my best,
