Thanks for doing this, CI. Now I know what to expect.

Did you order seconds?

Burgundy will give you a different color range to work with and it is very versatile. Wingtips are perfect for a dressy casual environment.

Thanks for the opinion, but doesn't chili lean a little more towards the red/burgundy then brown? Still, I think merlot might be a nice choice as its clearly different than chili. Ah, decisions...

I did order seconds. When I got them I could not find the flaw.

As an extra bonus I just ordered another pair of Patriots in Burgundy shell a few moments ago. I called to see if they still had them in my size (they only had one pair last week) and they did so I went ahead and took advantage of the 20% off sale. I'm not sure how often these 20% off sales come along so I wanted to take advantage of it. I've been wanting to get some loafers for a while now anyway so this has been a "cheaper" alternative to the Aldens that I have been mulling over.

 Greetings Forum !

I've been snooping around the Forum for awhile for the past couple of months and during my time spent here I've gained plenty of Knowledge especially within the Appreciation thread. After years of Repurchasing shoes ( Lower grade/Squared toed/Rubber soled) after research and influence by my Mentor of many years I've made my First purchase of a Pair of Allen Edmonds "Strands" ....I must say that I am Truly in love with them and the Ladies LOVE THEM!!! I am a young man in my late 20s so I am still a bit new to the Lifestyle of Dress shoes however with my Strands the shoes really Heighten the caliber of my Apparel and PERSON. I had no clue that there were so many different styles of Lacing up a shoe for comfort and "POP". May 3 of this year would make it  a year since I've had these ( Just broken in as of Feb). I am looking forward to purchase a few more pairs to add to my budding Arsenal. Below are the Results of today's shine

Welcome to the Forum WellrounDred. You seem to Like capitalizing random words when it is Unnecessary. Regardless, I'm Glad you like your AE shoes. I Too am like you in that I am in my 20s (though I am in my Early 20s) and just discovering the Awesomeness of Allen Edmonds. I Currently have two pairs: black Park Avenues and brown Fifth Avenues. You choice of Walnut Strands as a first purchase is interesting. Though certainly Nice shoes, most go with something more conservative in a darker brown and with less brogueing. For a truly "well rounded" (albeit minimal) shoe collection, consider acquiring a basic black captoe (Park Avenue) and a dark brown oxford for your next purchases.

Wear in good health, and once again welcome to the forum.smile.gif

P.S. Since you mentioned the numerous methods of lacing shoes, consider straight bar lacing for Balmorals such as your Strands. It's a much cleaner and more elegant look.

Does anyone have an email address for Jeffersonville?  How long is the 20% off sale running?

It might be easier to just call them.
