Getting a new pair required a new order through the special order program. The new pair arrived today and both the below issues were resolved. My right ankle bone isn't rubbing, and the padding is attached well.

In my experience the shipping times have been quicker than the estimates. First order estimated 4-6 weeks with the price quote, then estimated shipping in 2 weeks on my order receipt, and ended up arriving 9 days after submitting my order. Second order estimated 6-8 weeks with the price quote, shipping in 2 weeks on my order receipt, and arrived at the 2 week mark. Both times I was surprised since I never received tracking.

I hope your happy with your Leeds and that you will post a picture in full dress uniform wearing them soon!

Also I hope that you don't have to go through that again however if you do... When dealing with AAFES Special Orders and there is a QC issue I call AE CS directly. They email you a shipping label and you send them straight to the QA department. AAFES can just get in the way sometimes. AE customer service has always been great to deal with IMO. I've always received an email notification from AAFES about shipping and even from AE when I go direct, strange that you didn't. However because I am fairly close to AE in distance it is usually the day after I get the shoes.

Thank you good sir. Yes, Joel Etchen custom 687\682 Gold E with EELL wood. Realized the other day with all the money I've spent on shell and shoes\boots I could actually be shooting a Perazzi instead, maybe even a complete 4 bbl set. But I'll stick with what I have for now ;-)

greetings fellas. On the current sale, the Amok is on sale in Tan Suede for $99 as seconds and $149 for firsts in "Brogue Suede". I think I'd prefer darker over lighter, but I don't really like the Bitter Chocolate either. I have no idea what the Brogue looks like. Can anyone help and post some pictures. thank you much!

Go into the Shoes..Dress Shoes area, be sure to not be in Sale Shoes.  On the left, you can filter by leathers. Expand that and select.

What model is that?

They're very cool in a retro/beatnik type of way and can be worn casually, or dressed up with a suite equally well so they are very versatile.  They may not look the best when you yourself are looking straight down on them, but to others, the profile is quite attractive.

I think they're Leeds, may or may not be shell however.

I don't recall for what magazine that was shot , but I do remember that it did say Black Calf Leeds.

I'd take that set up with the shell vs the Perazzi any day. Joel Etchen is good people, bought a 391 with a reduced stock for my wife from him.

1. Pardon the ignorance, but where do I view the seconds list?

2. Are the amok chukkas made in DR?

You have to email one of the outlet store requesting the seconds list for a particular size and they will email you the list.

The Amoks are Made in the USA as are all the Goodyear Welted shoes. The DR shoes are the cemented ones. MH is obviously still nit picking because some uppers are cut/sewn in the DR and he's mad about it.

ps why are you still hanging out in the Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread, MH?

I am an Alden fan but an AE loyal. My question is what is the difference between Strand AE's and Mcallister AE's. I need a pair of WT and would like to get the best ones AE has to offer.

AE Medalist in the mail.

Not sure if I am going to keep them just yet.  I need to see how well they breathe, and possibly how ridiculous they (might) look with shorts.  There is no way in hell I am not wearing shorts in the middle of summer for golf, however idk... i don't think I'm going to be able to get these by without pants.

The difference should be obvious from comparing pictures of the two. Both shoes are made on the same last, but the difference is the Strand is a half brogue (cap toe) while the McAllister is a full brogue (wingtip). Assuming "WT" means wingtip, you probably want the McAllister. smile.gif

This is not nitpicking. The Amok uppers are cut and sewn not in the USA.

Further, AE has a duplicate plant in the DR and shifts production on 'Made in USA' shoes there at any time. But the Amoks even say 'Made from fine imported leather' on them.
