Thought that might happen (sorry).  I have found that AE's own dark brown works to restore a little bit of it, but does not work as well as I would like.

I ordered some Saphir Cognac cream polish. I'll keep everyone updated on how well it works.

Both are great optiions. Depends on what you are going to use it for. Suede is not going to be overly dressy, so I would let what type of shoe you are looking for and whichever last fits you better decide for you.

It depends on the person but usually 5-10 wearings from experience.

Are they usually pretty stiff then when new? Thanks for your response

What color? Black Custom Calf is notoriously hardy.

I posted last night that I was going to email the shoebank about the sales and would post the results when I got the reply. Here's the e-mail thread for those that have not contacted anyone at AE yet regarding the 2 for $250 sale (their reply first - I removed the list of shoes they provided for readability).

They didn't answer point by point but...

You cannot combine promotions. The sale is ONLY on factory second discontinued models.

Subject: Seconds List

Good evening.

Some readers of the Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread on styleforum.net have questions about the sale(s) going on right now and I'd like to get a list of available models in my size.

1. Is the 2 for $250 sale limited to discontinued/closeout models?

2. Is the 2 for $250 only for seconds or are there first quality shoes as well?

3. Can we add the $35 discount for the Soles4Souls promotion to the 2 for $250 deal if we donate 2 pairs of shoes?

I'm looking for a list of closeout and seconds for 9.5E and 9.5EE and would appreciate it if you could add my email address to the seconds and closeout sales/specials mailing list.

Thanks and have a blessed day!

...Where to buy AE conditioner in Canada? It's a 5 dollar product on the AE website but shipping to Canada adds 30 dollars to it...where can I get it for 5 bucks in Canada considering I'm nowhere near the Harry Rosen or whatever dealer in canada sells them? I couldn't find the conditioner on amazon either ;S....not a good situation

Just got some Larchmonts delivered.  But I think there's a problem.  Look how the lace holes don't line up.  The bottom part of the lace is slanted.  Is this normal?  Anyone with this model of shoe have this going on?

These are my first suede shoes so I don't have much to compare them to. Any thoughts on the best way to care for them? I've heard good things about the alden suede care product as a pre-treatment. Necessary?

I'm new to Allen Edmonds but from what I've seen from their product line, I'm dying to buy a pair of walnut Strands. It also seems that they're a very popular choice.

The problem is that I lack shoes in general so I'll be needing more than one pair. I'm definitely going to need a shoe in black for more formal occasions and I can't choose one to buy in black. The Park Avenues seem like a popular choice but I'm not sure about it. I also plan on buying a pair of Fifth Avenue but not in black. After buying a pair in black and the walnut Strand, I'll be needing more shoes in brown shades so I'm open to any recommendations and shoes proven to satisfy.

I've also seen the Rutledges and they are beautiful. However, I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend that extra money.
