Oddly, this thread has become the only thing I check on the internet daily. It's an interesting thing how you can feel a relationship to a group of people you only know through screenames and pictures of their feet.

uhoh.gif  How many women have run away screaming or quietly slipped out the back door when you weren't looking?  Based on the way you described your relationship with this board, I can see the following scene unfold:

Her:  "What are you doing?"

OptoDoc:  "Taking pictures of my feet.  I've got a bunch of buddies on the internet that I've never met, but we take pictures of our feet to share with each other."

Her:  Blank stare.

OptoDoc:  Wiping a tear from his eye, "I love those guys."

Her:  Continued blank stare, while waiting for the punch line.

OptoDoc:  "What?  I'm not making this up.  Look, see, I have pictures of all my friends on my hard drive."

Her:  Look of abject horror when she sees OptoDoc's entire hard drive is filled with pictures of mens' feet.

OptoDoc:  "See, this is Cold Iron, he really likes boots.  And, Seven Fold, he really likes his shell leeds.  And . . . hey, wait, where'd you go?"  *sound of the back door slamming as OptoDoc goes back to looking at his pictures of shoes and talking to himself.

Not a ton of availability in my size, unfortunately. Still, I did cop a tan suede Amok for $99. That's hard to beat.

What would this correlate to in width size? I do know that AE's are made 1/8 inch larger per width increase.

Is 1/8 inch the general rule? This doesn't seem like much.

1/8 is the general rule, but it differs by size of shoe.. I am pretty sure, anyone can chime in if I am wrong about this, but depending on what size shoe you wear, the shoe has a starting measurement across the widest part of the shoe, then it goes up 1/8 inch per width.

A size 8 would start at a smaller width than a size 12, but the increments go up by 1/8.

They had Bayfields and Amoks in my size. I picked up the Amoks for $99 (already have the Bayfields).

The width chart on Allen Edmonds' own sizing pdf should come in handy for those with questions.

I wish I had bought the black Players' Shoe. I have them in walnut and wear them quite a bit.

Okay after a lot of searching and without much success, what are people doing for edge dressing on Walnut AEs? Also, I am wanting to strip off what is on there currently as it is looking a little spoltchy (sorry no pics at the moment). My cobbler said to use sand paper to get the old stuff off and I also read the same somewhere here on SF. Anyone have experience? Also, the AE sales guy said some people prefer Chili edge dressing as the Walnut is pretty transparent. I don't want to go darker then hate it and can't change it. So, if anyone has some after pics that would really help me. I have a pair of Strands and 5ths in Walnut.

Thanks
