Some mentioned on Reddit that the Neumoks are built on a variation of the 5 last and are slightly narrower, but I didn't find any mention of this on AE site. If true, is is something to worry about (that is, if I could fit into a Park Ave, would the extra narrowness on the Neumoks work out with a little breaking in)?

It's really hard to say. Standard balmorals (Strands) fit me perfectly in 8.5D, standard bluchers (Kenilworths) are too long in 8.5D, lined Rough Collection balmorals (Elgin/McTavish) are too long in 8.5D, and unlined Rough Collection balmorals (Neumoks) were way too narrow for me. All that is to point out how hard it is to really tell without trying them on. It's the same 5-65 last, but various reasons could account for the tighter fit.

But yes, I found them to be very narrow. Good news is they opened my eyes to the fact that I might need to be wearing E's or wider.

Interesting.  I don't have Neumoks, but in the Cronmok I got a better fit than the standard calf 5-Last shoes.  McAllisters and Park Avenues are a bit snug, but the Cronmoks are perfect.  I think it really depends on your foot shape, not size.  Given OP description, I would tend to recommend sticking with the same as you buy in other 5-last and hope for the best.

My burgundy shell Leeds are my oldest shell shoes, and have turned an uneven light brown color. They look great with jeans but not quite right for work and dressier use IMO. sevenfoldtieguy has mentioned here and elsewhere how well Saphir Cordovan Shoe Polish in Cordovan works with AE burgundy shell. I had tried the Saphir clear Cordovan polish but wasn't pleased with it overall. But have learned that when Seven speaks it pays to listen. So I thought I'd try the Cordovan in Cordovan to see if was better and started by stripping them down with Renomat and then cleaning up with Renovateur. Then 1 coat of Saphir Cordovan Shoe Polish in Cordovan, followed by a coat of Saphir Wax polish in Mahogany #9, then another coat of Cordovan with a day apart between applications and of course brushing and polishing. Wow!

Most traditional shell heads would give me a hard time about using any polish on shell and normally I don't unless I designate a pair of shell for bad weather. But in this case feel it turned out great and would do it again in a heartbeat. When I brought the shoes out to take a picture a friend comment that they were fancy looking shoes... Sometimes I think we forget how great looking the PTB really is. And then she said they were a great color and asked what color was it? I told her it is called #8. It works for me.

So all 3 pairs of my Leeds: From the bottom black calf... WAIT they aren't black?! Thanks to jjr4884 I decided to try 2 coats of Saphir Navy Blue #6 wax. And they turned out perfect, deep dark blue in bright light and a deep black inside with indirect lighting. They are my oldest pair of AE shoes and have new life. Thanks guys, I feel like I now have 3 new pair of Leeds instead of just the custom brown ones.

+1 on Saphir cordovan cream. Great stuff. Also seems to really condition the shell.

They modified the webgem site yesterday by removing the purchase on or by 3/3 and receive them before 3/19 part. So who knows as long as they are still selling what they have up there. Part of me can't wait and the adult part of me says no hurry as I have spent too much in footwear after my run of the last year.

My vote is we ask that Sizzle to be put in charge of design and marketing myself....

Thanks!

For starters, we would get some tasteful suede and walnut/cappuccino shell offerings.

Hello everyone. Does anyone know an online shop which will ship from and to Europe? I've ordered a bunch of shoes and boots from USA and forgot to add manistee belt to match my Daltons: how much I miss it.

I emailed the shoebank this morning asking for a list of any shell in my size. I also asked if they knew of any shell specials coming soon. They replied that they knew of no shell specials coming.

I recently purchased red Neumoks--which are sick.

Does anyone have a method of taking care of them? Would you apply Obenhauf's heavy duty LP?

Saddle soap is fine.  The AE manager recommended it.

The standard unlined Neumok actually runs a little big and the rough leather has more give to it.  I'd guess you'd be fine.  Worst case, you can return them.
