Sorry for shitty pics it's late and I took these with the phone.
Is this a deal breaker? They're seconds. I can cover it up with wax polish.

Unless it's deep, you should be able to polish over that.  I would use creme polish to fill in the color.

Strands in brown and walnut (limited sizes) are $239 at Lands' End right now.

If anyone ordered the Slatons in brown 9.5D and would like to do a straight up trade, let me know. I have too many winged shoes shog[1].gif and need some brown captoes.

If those are in 9.5D, wanna do a trade for my 9.5D Sandersons in Tan? =P
The Shoe Bank was sold out of all of the brown so I had to settle for tan. That brown looks fantastic.

Also, I ordered last week the Brooks Strand. I actually think they arrived the next day or two days later after I ordered them. I worn them twice now. I know they have the poron insole, but I am surprised at how much tighter this shoe is compared to other AEs I have on the same last. Also, they squeak a bit when I walk. I love the look of the shoe, abut am hoping they stretch a bit and stop squeaking...

Re. the squeaking. try applying some conditioner on the top of the tongue esp. where it rubs to the upper leather. Sometimes dry leather rubbing against dry leather causes squeaks.

Man I cannot believe I missed the sale on the RL Sandersons, those are beautiful shoes.  I wish I would have known about the sale when it was going on.

You guys know these are always discounted, because their seconds? The non-sale price is $259; not as good as the $130. But still a pretty good deal.

Do they generally have these available all the time?

Plus, I think the BB and RL seconds are always heavily discounted during any seconds sale.  I think the only difference this past week was the frenzy of everyone realizing this.

Yes, they always have seconds. Email shoebank or call them or one of the stores and ask for a list of shoes in your size. They will send you an inventory with prices.

Shoebank is their main outlet. You can contact them or any of the outlets, not the regular stores:

This seems to be true, which is a double bonus, because they retail at higher prices than the AE equivalent. Actually triple bonus, because they seem to have higher quality seconds, too (though that's hit or miss).

I do realize seconds are cheaper, but $130 vs. $260 is night and day, at least for me.

Yes, of course. Just wasn't sure if people had the impression that seconds are only available during sales.

Also, don't be afraid to rub a little Johnson & Johnson's baby powder in the problem area if you can isolate the area that is causing squeaking.  Try conditioner first, since it is good for the shoe anyway, but a little baby powder won't hurt anything.  Just dab some on with your fingertips to create a thin white film (don't go shaking it all over your shoe).

Beautiful shoe.  Interesting that it came in an Allen Edmonds box rather than a Ralph Lauren one.

The Sandersons seem just a little bit cramped in the toe-box, but I think it could be fine with a bit of wear. They certainly look pretty awesome, so I'm leaning toward keeping them. I think both of them are very nice LWBs.

Onto a few pics:

Great looking LWB collection!
