Need to figure out what colored laces will work with these.  Surprisingly I'm having a brain fart thinking what color I can use with them.

If it were me, I'd go with some kind of off-white -- cream or ivory, something that would complement the richness of the merlot rather than headbutt it with a different hue.

I think I like the look of the Clifton more because the roundish shape of the "opening" on the Kenilworth is too dull and boring for my liking. The Clifton seems a bit more fun and interesting for casual wear at the office (chinos and OCBD) I can't decide between the walnut and burnished burgundy/brown though. Brown goes with more pants color because walnut and charcoal pants doesn't go very well together to me.

Also, is the Kenilworth a little chiseled at the toe? It doesn't seem to have the fuller, more perfectly round toe that the Clifton has.

You are right about Meermin but their price is lower for classic line (around 220 including shipping) and their lasts and offering is more attractive/sleeker as well.

Thanks again.

I think the 8 last is more tapered from toe to heel. I don't either is chiseled or squared off.

Thoughts?

I like this idea. I think a subdued yellow hue would work, as well.

But here is a crazy idea. Black is really good color for Merlot. It might be worth trying black, but in a slightly heavier/fluffier/glossier something to make the laces stand out more. To the extend you can squeeze heavier laces in there, I think it might look good.

I definitely like the 8 last more than the 5. The toe is definitely more sleeker looking compare to the toe of the 5. If the 8 fits you I would definitely go with that,

Thanks again.

I too was racking my brain on getting Meermins recently. The thing to look at is that they don't have an online store so you would have to put in an order. Also, would this be the first time you buy from them?
The problem I had was that trying on a shoe before I buy it is a MUST.
I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of waiting a whole month for my shoes to arrive either.

I cant stay away. I need a pair.

Click to embiggen and flip back and forth between those two -- there is no difference. Pixel for pixel, they're the same image. Seems they use that photo solely (heh.) to illustrate what a leather sole looks like, not a particular last shape; I bet they have just one photo per sole type (JR, oiled leather, regular, commando, etc) regardless of shoe.

Same with me. I had those but they just didn't fit my feet right so that I ended up having to sell them. It was too bad because I loved the look of them.

Adam, glad you caught that!

I'm going to go edit my post to make sure no one takes it as fact.

Looks like some of you got your shoes quickly.

I ordered via phone from an outlet store five days ago and they still haven't shown. I wasn't given any tracking info.

Did they ask for your E-mail? I also ordered over phone. Check your account, a message from FedEx should be waiting.

In all of my experiences ordering either in store or over the phone, unless you asked for them to update you with tracking notification they won't.
