I ordered from both Leeds in AL and the Shoe Bank.  Leeds charged sale tax, even though I am out of state, FYI.

I'd say the BB/RL shoes might be a little better finished than my other AE's, but just barely if at all.

I like the stitched down topy on the BB myself.

And, you know I'll be ready (not like my AE collection is really lacking).

As far as the jeans... (Click to show)

As far as the jeans, in general, I agree with you, that slimmer is better, but this is where I feel comfortable. I wear size 29 jeans, and, overall, I'm pretty small. So, to get the taper you're suggesting, I'd need to wear pretty much skin-tight jeans, and there is no way I'm going that far. I think it's partially distorted by the scale of my small shoes too, but, in person, I think it comes across reasonably well (my confidence drops with tighter fits).

Summary: Thanks, but, in my book, skinny legs + skinny jeans = no-go.

Jut have a seamstress take in the inseam 1-2" from the knee down.  I have small waist/big thighs/slim calves so most pants require sizing up then having the waist and calves slimmed.  Costs like $5 for good work from some Korean lady.

I appreciate the advice, but I'm aware of what it takes to make the pants slimmer. What I'm saying is that I'd rather not wear narrower jeans than this at this point.

SB is one of the busiest outlets.  You should try calling another outlet as everyone has the same ability to see the companies entire inventory.  The Jeffersonville team is usually very prompt and quick in responding.

I thought of saying this too.
I did this to a pair of Docker cargo's that I scored for ~$20.
They were very fat and ugly but I had a vision! I had a family friend do this and the result was fantastic. This was way before GQ started slimming cargos mind you.
Ending result was "Very Brunnello Cucinelli"

I should post a pic somewhere...

I ordered the red & white with a buff split reverse welt, and then a all football leather with a buff split reverse welt. Can't wait. Both of these will be fun to dress up a casual pair of jeans or chinos.

After looking at your football leather webgem creation and then looking at the football loafer:

I ordered a pair of the web gems myself and then I applied a $35.00 dollar recraft coupon towards the shoes too.  With the tax they were less than $175.00.  Woo hoo.

Just so you know, I'm in agreement that pants look better when they are cut slimmer than classic styles. Heck, I've had plenty of pants tapered and taken in, especially khakis and such. There's just a limit to how slim I want to go on jeans, and going thinner would really start to emphasize my chicken-leg status.

Now, back to the thread...

With most of those sale pickups coming in this week, I expect a lot more pictures, and I'm looking forward to it. I really wish they'd had Illfords or tan Sandersons in my size. That would have been ridiculous.

When they come in, post some pictures so we can see how they turn out. If they get them to you before March 3rd, that would still leave time for people to put through some orders of other designs they were considering.

What do you guys think of this color for Dalton?
I might just be having AE fever.
Normally $375. Now $197.

Yay or Nay?

You should seriously check out the grey in person.

I think the grey would be a tough color to pull into an outfit, and on these shoes, it might look like a washed out black from a distance, especially if anything else about the outfit is not immaculate (suggesting that the wearer would not be wearing old, weathered shoes and that the color must be grey).

I think we've discussed it before in this thread, but it seems AE got in over their head with grey leather and is trying to clear it out in any design they can.

Side note: I don't like that it's priced as a markdown, which suggests you're getting a deal. The Dalton was never offered in grey at "full" price. It was only ever available at this price. This isn't the only grey shoe to never have been introduced at the same price as its other colorways.

Definite no. Looks like a cheap mall boot.

As soon as they come in I will post pictures. I ordered them 1/30. They may be here before the sale ends, or may not; but as soon as I get them, I will post pics.

Just squat bro.  Those jeans look more flared than classic-straight.  Straight or a light taper is preferred to calve hugging IMO.

Quick i-phone swag pic of today's delivery.

Are those the RL Slaton on the left? They look terrific.

I have to clear this up though. I think it may have been the angle or something because I don't know who would consider these flared or bootcut. I just don't see it, or the need to go slimmer. (I placed it in a spoiler not to detract from the thread.)
