Not that I am aware of.

Update on my Quinton issue.

I received a call from the rep. I originally corresponded with, I think, and she noted not only did I have an issue with the heel, but she saw that the dainite-style sole was also coming apart. They will recraft the shoes at no cost to me.

Will update with results when I receive them.

I'm afraid I am now in the same boat.  My 1  year old Malverns lost the dainite heel this afternoon and now have nails protruding from the base of the heel.  I wonder if there is a solution short of a full recrafting.

Quick question for anyone who owns the cronmoks or neumoks. I just got a brown pair of neumoks and a blue pair of cronmoks from the $150 off two pairds of seconds sale. They are in fantastic shape, and I cant find an issue with either pair.

My question is how do people treat/care for the leather on these? I feel like I might want to darken the blue ones a bit. What would work well for that? Neatsfoot oil? I have all of the regular care products for my traditional calf shoes, but not sure what to do with these. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Alrighty now that there are two responses i won't hold back, you both owe me lol... I'm late!

Magnanni Mateo, the laces were on there from an outfit I had on last week, they looked awesome lol

With the right angle and lighting, this is what you see... love it

Blurry, but this shows the color the best

Used this below, navy, apply with a cotton ball, I ruined one of my AE daubers haha.  Brush off, spray one squirt of water on brush, brush shoe again, repeat a couple times.

Also, I received my recrafted walnut strands today, will post up pics and a review in a couple hours.

After exposure to several rainy days, I spent the evening cleaning/conditioning, and saddle soaping...   I'm pretty happy with the results.  nod[1].gif

I was just thinking about what shoe to wear in tomorrow's wintry mix slop they're calling for in DC -- those make me want to resole my shell Daltons with commando lugs when the time comes. Great looking boot!

Thanks!  Yeah, I have really enjoyed them so far.  They are perfect for foul weather.

Thanks adam... I am going to put some navy laces on them and probably keep it that way, i'll take some pics during the day as well, I'm sure they will look even better in the sunlight.

Its been a while since I've been inclined to wear black shoes, and since i've had these i absolutely love them.

Hey guys...just got brown neumok (ignore the PJ pants).  What's up with the discoloration on the right side?  Anyone experience anything similar with their neumoks?

So, I sent my walnut Strands out to be recrafted on Dec 29th, just got them back today... so less than 3 weeks door to door.  I dropped them off at the Newbury St. store in Boston the Sunday before NYE.  I was told 4-6 weeks after Christmas since a lot of people I guess do them after the holiday with gift cards, etc.. idk... but to my convenience, it took half the time.  Also, I checked last week, surprisingly they don't spend a lot of time in the shop.  I think I called on Friday the 4th, just to see if they received them yet... nothing.  I called on Thursday the 10th, and they were already shipped out to me.  So between Monday and Thursday, they received them, checked them, recrafted them, and mailed them.  Not bad in 3-4 business days.

So the shoes.  Few things I noticed.  Maybe its me, but the soles the soles don't seem to be the same.  I compared them to a brand new pair of bourbon strands i just got on Monday, used once.  Idk, they sole just feels harder than the leather they usually use.  Also, all new AE's have the notched out part where the stitching is, and then more towards the center of the shoe, there is another little notch/design that is in the leather.  See below

Mine below... whatever, not a big deal, just an observation.  I just hope the leather used is of the same quality.

So, moving along now....  The remainder of the inspection passed all expectations.  The leather was reconditioned very well.  There were some scratches and blemishes on the toe box that can barely be seen now, naked to the eye unless you knew what was previously there.  The knot stitching at the bottom of the eyelets were definitely done over again, which is a nice touch.  There is no way they were in the condition they are now after a year of heavy use, I am almost certainly positive that the stitching was pulled and separated.  See the little stitch right above the first eyelits.

The shoes look great.   I am surprised that the creasing was reduced dramatically on the vamps.  Literally, besides the insole, these shoes look like they were worn a handful of times if you are judging just by the upper.

The only thing that raised an eyebrow was the inside of the heal.  There is a gap between the insole and the lining.  I don't remember if it was like that before, but there seems to be a lot of dust/lint in there LOL.  I need to take a look at a few other pairs of shoes and see if thats the way it looks.

All in all, considering the shoe itself, the fact that I burned through my left sole (clutch use possibly?) and that I wore the hell out of these since the beginning of last year, I am extremely satisfied with the recrafting service.  I wasn't expecting the upper to come out THAT good and new looking.  Its tough to dish out $125 for a used pair of shoes, but after seeing the end result, this now is incentive to recraft my shoes as preventative maintenance rather than waiting until the soles have holes in them.  Very happy and thoroughly impressed.

Can anyone comment on sizing for the Westchester loafer? Some reviews are telling me to size down half, does this sound right?

Are they new or have you been wearing them for a while?  Have you used any conditioners or polish on the leather?

Compared to the elongated shape of the 3 and 5 last, ya, probably would be a good idea to go a half size down, but I would try to get to a store and try them on.
