Is there much difference between D to E?  Put it this way the 8.5D in the strand feels like a good fit, snug with still some room from the big toe to the end of the shoe but after several hours wear the sides of my pinky toe and big toe are quite sore, would a move to E or EE be the right call in this case perhaps?

Personal preference.

I agree, personal preference.  I have always like the Park Avenue and just picked up a pair in the Black and Dark Brown Burnished.  I think it's a very understated but timeless shoe.

I myself am not a huge fan of the PA, but we must not forget that the PA is one of AE's best - if not its best - seller year after year.

It's personal preference. Get them if you like them.

Sweet, thanks for the replies guys looking forward to getting my shoes all sorted.  Thinking ill cross brown off the list this time and go with the dark brown park avenues and dark brown fifth street or chocolate daltons.

I would not get both the PA and the 5th Avenue in brown.  They're way too similar to have both.

What in the world is this "personal preference" BS?  This is Style Forum where we declare our personal preferences as if they are objective facts!

Walnut strands with khaki-colored jeans? Oh, no he didn't!

I think it's right on the cusp between too short and right. I think, in certain sizes, it seems appropriate, but, in larger sizes, it comes across as a bit out of proportion.

I don't know how clearly I'm expressing my thought here, but I feel it's tough to make a definite call on whether it's too short (across the board)or not.

What you're saying makes sense. On smaller shoes, the distance from the toe to the vamp is shorter, so the shorter toe cap does not stand out as much. It's personal preference, as people said before. I was half joking; not my preference, but I don't hold a grudge against those who like it.

Is there a general concensus on the Vernons? They appear to be pretty minimialistic and sleek. Thinking of grabbing a pair alongside some Nuemoras.

It's on a great last. I don't like all the holes myself. Seems a little busy. I know that sounds odd, but for some reason brogueing with layers of leather looks better to me.

Icy out today; so I wore black Strands with a topy on them. Not the most flattering picture; on a dirty rug, too.

I wonder if someone can help me out with a problem I've got. The shoes in the following picture were an old pair that I thrifted and unfortunately got caught in the rain during a walk home. Will Saphir Renovateur strip off all the old built up polish/creme/wax and help restore the original colour? Because as you can see, the toe-cap and the rest of the shoe have a very different colour to them. The toe-cap is lighter, while the rest of the shoe is darker.

And will Saphir Renovateur help with the awful colouring in the creasing? Thanks!
