I spoke with my local sales associate earlier today and he said it doesn't end until the 13th.  I'm also looking for suggestions from anyone on what to add to my current collection.  I think I am going to purchase 2 pair during the sale.  My current collection is Walnut Daltons, Chili Maxfield, Natural Elgin, Tan Suede Amok, Merlot Pomona, and Randolph Chili Grain.  Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

 

How about something in black or something in a wingtip oxford?

I would get something brown, maybe the strand in bourbon.

Does anyone out there size differently on the fifth street boot (5 last) than, say, the strand or PA/FA(5 last)?

I am TTS 9.5D but my 5 lasted AE's (all shoes) are 9D. I always wear thin dress socks. And I only wear them in dressier settings, never casually.

I am thinking for this boot (a 5 lasted boot) - given the potential likelihood of thicker socks and possible wear in more casual settings - I may want to go 9E or 9.5D. Going to an AE retailer and trying them on is not an option.

For those that own this boot and a 5 lasted shoe, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been fighting the urge to not place an order and was happy today was the day it would end (or so I thought).  I guess I'll be mind f'ed some more.  Feels like I'm only "settling" because of the price instead of me really wanting them.  Happy shopping everyone.

Hey everyone, I'm new on styleforum. Nice to meet you. 

I have a question and I can't find it anywhere. Brooks brothers had this AE burnished captoe shoe and I bought them. My question is specific: does anyone know if the shoe is based on the same last as the strand? It is visually almost identical. I haven't gotten them in the mail yet, but I thought someone here might actually know.

PS I emailed AE and they basically said to ask BB who I'm relatively confident don't know either, but I may well try them next.

The shoe that you linked appears to be the Elgin, it and the strand are on the 5 last but being a rough collection shoe it tends to run a bit larger; many people size down.
