My initial thought is a traditional shell saddle shoe, with burgundy vamp and quarters, black shell "saddle" and "foxing," regular welt (not split/reverse), double-leather sole, and probably black sole edge.  J.R. soles (same as all other shell shoes).
Like this:

#2: a walnut shell vamp and quarters, burgundy shell (or maybe brown shell?) "saddle" and "foxing," regular welt, double-leather JR sole, and "natural" sole edge.  (this is all assuming availability of the walnut or some other lighter-color brown shell).

#3: dark brown shell vamp and quarters, walnut "saddle" and "foxing", regular welt, natural sole edge, double-leather JR sole.  (again, assuming availability of walnut or some other lighter color shell)

Thoughts?  Also, I'd like to know who's in, so we can let them know a minimum of X will be ordered...

Number two in brown and walnut. I'd be in.

It is especially not true regarding the Neumok, if there was ever a balmoral that was meant for jeans, it is the Neumok. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they'd look a bit weird in slacks. This being especially true with the Blue/Red/Olive Neumoks.
By the way, Michael Haines, those are some very nice Neumoks you have there.

We all decide which rules we want to keep and when. Bals as true dress shoes is one of the rules I keep 100% of the time.

But I actually don't disagree that the Neumok would work with certain chinos and jeans (agree on no Neumoks and slacks or suits, unless a casual linen or cotton suit), even if it's not what I'd wear. I was more making the statement, "especially not those jeans."

I know you might be all bored with anything to do with the Krause boots so I'll make this my last mention of them.  satisfied.gif  I finally got around to treating the Wolverine/AE Krause boots in russet that I got.  I took guidance from some others that have done this as I thought the boots looked too red and "plain" out of the box for my liking.  I did not treat with any conditioner first as I wanted maximum penetration of the black polish/cream.  I know this may be cheating but I wanted a more worn look and also thought it might aid in the penetration of the black cream so I actually massaged the boots, bending the leather back and forth and softening it up, mostly along the top edges of the vamp and along the eyelets.

Here's a before picture:

Here's the after picture.  I actually used the black cream polish on the raw edges as well (thanks to Mario Impemba for the idea).  I was quite pleased with the overall result. Ok, I'm done.

Nice job. Looks great, and much better than out-the-box. Nice laces, too.

Good Afternoon Gents

I will be putting up a pair of shoes for sale, just want to give you the heads up.

Shell Cordovan McGraw in a 10.5B, never worn.  fresh coat of Saphir Reno.  Will post pics, not sure the exact color but they are a lighter shade of brown.  I will have all the details when I post up the FS thread.

Thanks

FYI, same shoes below, but not in color 8.

Yep. You don't need the number for this shoe but in case I think this one is 9097. I really like the patina on old MacNeils, I wear mine all the time.

PSA Chicago: Saw a pair of burgundy shell MacNeil's in 9.5 EEE at Nordstrom RACK on State for $249. Some shop wear but they're shells so not really an issue.

Based on the pics and the size (13E), methinks this was a big boy who walked, a lot - They seem to be flattened out a ton...

Maybe it's just how the shoe is built and/or how the pictures present them.
