Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - Page 888

So I made a very specific request to Kristle... for a full list of everything in the system in walnut shell cordovan or truffle (cappuccino) shell cordovan, since those were very limited runs, and the supply supposedly is drying up.  I thought others on this board might benefit from this, as there are some shoes on here I didn't know existed!  (truffle McGraw?!)

And back off those 12D's - they're mine!

Thanks, never knew that. I'm happy with either sole.

I will speak from my 1 day of experience that the rubber combination (I think they call it "v-tread") is great in the rain!

I have polished my pair with a quote of black and then Reno again and then black around the stitching and edges turned out great

What does the s on the end of the "Style: 1655S" denote?

^^ "seconds" as opposed to first quality

Pics please!

I received both the russet and black Krause boots today. The quality on the russet is great with very few flaws. I have to search long and hard to find the them, and honestly, it's difficult to tell what truly is a flaw without having a pair of first quality on hand to compare them to.

The black are also great but there a few issues with the stitching on the tongue as well as on one side with the middle row of the triple stitching disappearing midway through. They really are minor issues though.

The boots fit true to size and are the same as the original 1000 mile in sizing. The colors are similar to what I saw online. I'm very happy with them and want to thank Cindy at Allen Edmonds in Ohio, bucksfan, and Wolverine. My boot search is finally over!

Here's a picture of the black ones taken with my cellphone. The stitching is a beautiful brown but, oddly, it came out as gray in the picture.

You, sir, are awesome. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

And if those 14A truffle McGraw seconds were one tick narrower, I'd be utterly unable to honor the year-long shoe-buying hiatus I undertook last month.

I am now convinced that Bucksfan either works for or receives commissions from AE...

I believe McGraw was the third option in the Ides of March 2012 trifecta. I am really close to seeing if I can fit into an 8D, but experience is telling me that it probably won't work... o' for the love of recrafting to an 8E!
