I've not yet scuffed mine to the extent you have on yours but I've defnitely had my share of scratches and scuffs, some pretty bad. I have been successful in removing them by either brushing pretty vigorously with a fair amount of pressure or else using a soft cloth and buffing the scuff/scratch, again with a fair amount of pressure. This brings out the natural oils and pigment and quite remarkably, the scuff/scratch disappears. Not sure if this will work with yours but give that a try first.
If you need to add color back in, I've heard some others recommend that Saphir's cognac cream (or wax, don't remember) closely matches the color of AE's walnut shell, although I haven't purchased any of that myself yet.
Good luck!
For me I would get the Strands instead of a third pair of Dalton's, but I would suggest that your current collection should provide as much guidance as anything else. Do the Stands fill a whole? If so then I lean farther in that direction. If you are at the point where you are purchasing just for what you like and not what you need then go with your gut.
Of course you could just get both....
What currently have is
Walnut Dalton
Shell Burg Dalton
Dark Brown Long Branch
Walnut New Orleans
Black New Orleans
Brn/tan two tone broad street web gem
Olive nuemora
Navy nuemora
Walnut Cody
Brn nuemok
Black PA
Black Burton
Black Stanford
And just ordered bourbon strand
Same feedback as BootSpell... I had a scuff on my walnut cord strands that ironically enough I made while brushing.
Vigorous brushing and pressure should eventually smooth over the rough parts.

I decided to strand

Good choice on the bourbon strand... seems to fit a gap for a lighter brown cap toe in your collection.
I could not pull the trigger myself either on the bourbon Daltons since I have the shell walnut and calf walnut ones.
I am still hoping for a shell special as a web gem, FB Friday deal, or in the Fall 2.0 launch.
You're asking the wrong question. The correct question is whether you like them and whether they are harmonious with the image you are trying to create. Stick around long enough and you will realize that people here of all ages will ooh and ahh over shoes that are too trendy for your tastes or too clunky/traditional for the stye you have developed.
I could tell you that I'm 40 and don't like the Wilberts because your wife is right, but then that would lead to six posts agreeing with me and another six saying that they are in their 20's and love their Wilberts - and you would be back to the exact same place you are now, trying to decide if you like them or not.
