Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

These are beautiful. I didn't like the shape on AE's website, but these pics change my mind.

I never use taps for any of my shoes.

I guess there's no real point in using taps to lengthen heel life when so many people here in SF have 20+ shoes in their rotation!

Well, you wear the heels out then have them resoled by B.nelson or the original maker.

Noticed this today on my brand new Bayfields. Was looking for opinions on what I should do. Not sure If I should send them back to Lands End or whether this is an easy fix at a cobbler. Any input guys?

@goober: Get lands end to send you another one. That sort of mistake is unacceptable

That should not have made it past QC, in my opinion.  I would exchange.

Still saves quite a few bucks in my opinion as long as you can get used to the minimal extra height.

As always nicely done bucksfan, even with a crapberry phone picture. A man can never have too many shell Leeds IMO smile.gif

Think I'm going to have to pick up a pair of Leeds in black shell now to replace my black calf Leeds. The UPS man made his 4th and successful delivery attempt tonight. I was worried about the black shell because of the mixed reviews, especially on AE black shell. I couldn't be happier for my first pair of black shell. Reminds me of dark hard coal, and they are flawless. After less than 5 minutes with a brush:

With one of my #8 Dundee's:

When the others come in I will post pictures in natural lighting. This getting dark so late in the morning and early at night is going to take awhile to adjust for.

Very nice. That new burgundy cordovan finish is stunning too.

Guys, which color are you using to polish your new Bourbon color shoes (Amsterdam, strand, etc)?

My current shoes:

1. Park Avenue black
2. Clifton burgundy

Future shoes on my wish list:

3. Patriot loafer burgundy
4. Del ray brown
5. Patriot loafer brown
6. Jefferson brown or Mcallister bourbon if it becomes available

7. Don't really want but will probably add anyways Strand walnut

Then I'm done.
