Here they are.

These actually fit better than the 8 last Clifton I own. So in the 8 and 5 last I wear an 8.5E in both but the fit is 5 balmoral>8 balmoral>8 blutcher.


Next up for me is the Kenilworth in burnished brown. What should be my black shoe? I only wear a suit about 5-8 times/year, so something I can wear with a suit but mostly with business casual attire.

walnut hales looks like?

Sorry, I should have quoted my post from this morning. They are burnished walnut Hales from the Clearance section of AE.com. These shoes are much too beautiful to be discontinued

I know this is the AE thread, but I respect the posters here and want your opinion. I had a Macy's gift card and used it to buy a pair of Clark's Bushacre II. However, I noticed some wrinkles on the outside of the Left boot. Would you return these?

I wouldn't return them, no. I don't think its that big of a deal.

I agree with Gooter. That's perfectly acceptable on a Clarks DB. They'll hopefully get a worn in look sooner rather than later and you'll never remember the wrinkle was there

I am a big fan of the Hale as well. Agreed that the plain toe shows shell better and is technically more formal, but some part of me falls into that category of folks that thinks shoes are "dressier" because of the heavy brogueing.

 

For me, the Hale (and the Fairfax) offer a great point of compromise between the Leeds/Park Avenue (no/minimal brogueing) and the McAllister/Strand (heavy brogueing).

If a bourbon shell is offered or they bring back cappuccino shell, I would be very tempted to get a MTO in Hale or Fairfax if available.

Thank you for the suggestion. I prob. go for the black McTavish, since I don't really dress suits that much. That dark brown McTavish looks very beautiful. How you gonna match it? With a dark denim, navy, dark gray chino or khaki? 

I was checking out the Rediscover America sale on the AE Website and eying a pair of Merlot McAllisters for $285.  Are there any other AE sales (or sales by retailers that sell AE) that may have a better price on this shoe?  Was looking at completing my collection with a Burgundy Wingtip and this shoe is perfect.  Also, I noticed the 5th Ave is $229.
