Hi,

Looking for my 1st pair of AE, just came across this NIB Men's Strawfut Oxford at amazon (Brown/Linen), also, these will be my 1st Brown shoes.

Already having a 20% code from Amazon, the total price shall be $150 including shipping & taxes.

Should I grab these now or give it a pass?

Don't want to go beyond this price point as being an international recipient, want to first try out size and fit.

Thanks.

The red laces came with them, in addition to a pair of light brown laces.

The No Return policy has me wary about pulling the trigger. I don't think I have enough experience with how AE sizes and my feet go together to make me that courageous. Also, a bit worried that I might get a pair with a defect of some sort.

AEs return policy and customer service is a big reason that I tend to shy towards going with them

Ok, I have had my Cronmoks a day or so - my initial thoughts. First, I don’t wear two different color laces AE sent two pairs of laces - dark red and an off white - I prefer the red. I wanted show the difference. Second, these are just about the most comfortable boots out of the box that I have owned. The leather is extremely soft and supple. The older I get the more I like unstructured boots/ shoes. Hopefully next season AE will consider a simple cap toe boot in this soft, unstructured, unlined fashion. Third, the rubber cap on the heel and sole are a big plus. Fourth, these boots are a little darker than when they arrived. I used Neatsfoot oil to darken and even the color - with two coats of Saphir. Finally, I have had boots made in Italy that were not nearly as comfortable or well made, at twice the cost. Another home run from AE…

Congrats on your new Cronmok's.  I wore mine out last night and they felt fantastic.  5 people asked me where I got my boots :)

I certainly understand your hesitation, but the shoes I got from him were fine. First quality, no problems.

I'd still go with the Manistee. They have it in merlot.

Did you already receive your burgundy shell Dalton's? I have a pair on order and didn't think I'd be getting them for a few weeks.

I'm not sure what to do. I'd love to buy a pair of Neumoras from him, but have never worn the 333 last and cannot get to the AE store in New Orleans to try them on for at least a couple of months. I am an 8.5E in the 5 and 8 last.

I know what you mean. Unless I know the last very well, I won't buy from anywhere that doesn't have a generous return policy.

I have been wearing them around the house - they go to church tomorrow, then work on Monday. They are comfortable aren't they!

The picture does not do the shine or hue of the brown justice...
