P.S is yours the brown burnished calf or the walnut burnished calf?

Looks like I'll have to save a bit more money and purchase myself a pair of the black rutledge!! This will be my first pair of nice quality shoe for work while actually putting some thought into it. My first few pairs of shoes while in college were blocky / chunky captoe dockers, pair of Ecco laceless slip on, and now a pair of Alfani.

Gooter's appear to be in burnished brown.

email the shoebank, they may have a pair of seconds in your size. They are only $259 right now through the 9th.

Sandersons (branded RL) just came in.  Will test around the house tonight to see how well they fit.  Liking them so far.

I like them for casual wear, and the 333 last fits my wide 10.5 EEE size great. No bowing, and the heals are level on this pair, shoe lays completely flat. Looking forward to breaking them in tomorrow biggrin.gif

Not quite, but close.

Is it true that Allen Edmond shoes shouldn't be worn on consecutive days?

i.e. they need to be in a shoe tree for one day before rewearing?

What's the company's name? Is there a website?

not just AE shows, but quality shoes you want to last in general...don't wear consecutively and have shoe trees in when not wearing

Ideally yes. Any shoes will benefit from a rotation. Once you have enough in the rotation you will find that you rarely, if ever, wear out your fine shoes. I have the first pair of AE's I ever bought as a junior in HS!

Depends on your budget; however, I still think they are quite ugly. Are you looking for somehting to wear with a suit? Or chino-like dress pants?

Just my luck, the pair of Strands that I ordered from Amazon came today. the shoes looked great but I found out for some reason the stitches that ties the tongue to inner wall of the left shoes were ripped out :( Unfortunately, Amazon is now out of my size. I absolutely love the shoes and don't want to return it. Amazon is offering me a 20% discount. Should I take it and send the shoes to AE for repair? :(

Lol... I prefer the shoes to be around 100 bucks, no more than 150. I'm looking for a pair that goes with business casual and maybe business professional. I do have a pair of chinos and dress pants. Am I supposed to size down for dress shoes like A.E.

I didn't mean to be rude, btw!! Are you looking for black or brown? I don't mind helping you. AE is having an amazing sale right now, so it is worth contemplating whether you can put some more cash in for a better investment.

Otherwise, it is always a good idea to get properly measured (especially if looking at eBay where some good deals may come without a return policy)

Ahah it's cool. I'm looking for a pair of black. The nearest A.E. store is 40 something miles away in S.F., so I'm not really looking forward to driving the distance. Are there any other stores that I can try on some shoes? Nordstrom is kind of expensive...

or should I get something on the A.E. site. Is this like the cheapest the discounts get? or are they better during days like Black Friday?
