Right.  I didn't wear them outside at all; only on the carpet inside.  

I am really considering getting the Rutledge in burnished brown. I have Park Ave in black, walnut Strand and CXL Bayfield on the way. I need a pair of brown dress shoes and to me the Rutledge looks much better than the go to Fifth Ave; although considerably more expensive.

Does anyone have any in the wild shots of the brown Rutledge to push me over the edge? The other option would be this from Meermin which is very similar.

I would prefer to stay with AE.

Thanks for the photos but those are the walnut, not burnished brown. My googlefu is mildly strong, I have only found a couple of shots and figured some here would have them in brown.

I believe they won't accept these for returns, but I see no reason why they can't be recrafted. All recrafted shoes will presumably have been worn quite a bit before even being sent in. Besides, you have to pay for the service, so they should have no issue performing it.

After wearing my fifth aves yesterday, I kind of wish I had have gotten something different like the strands or rutledge.  The cap just makes the entire shoe look... off.  I really wish it was longer.  I guess it's too late now, though.
