How many pairs would you bring in and do you have a rapport with a sales associate?

I wouldn't feel bad, especially if you purchased directly from the store. Most mens shoe stores in Houston are not packed during the week so I would go then to make it less of a hassle.

sorry, I can't take car advice from a person who think their audi has a V4.

S-class for a daily, porsche for the weekends. Pretty much unbeatable combo. At the C/3/A4 level, they are all decent, but nothing earth-shattering.

he said he owns an A4, it does have a v4.

Depends on what you like.  I prefer the red/orange tint that develops with time.  Below are pictures of Strands that are a year old and have always been polished with AE walnut polish.

Every time I see a balmora on someone else's foot it makes  I have literally gone through 6 different Strand sizes' and I have yet to get that result. Headed to another shoe store today, maybe I will have better luck.

I believe Quad is referring to the fact that the A4 is in an inline 4 cylinder (I4 vs V4).  As you can tell, I'm not a car guy.  My main requirement was that the vehicle have a manual transmission.  To be frank, I didn't care too much about the rest. It's a nice car, but it lacks the initial acceleration that I look for when merging with traffic.

He is referring to the "V4" ... the engine isn't a V design, it is an inline 4... meaning all 4 cylinders are in line with eachother.  The 2.0T is an I-4...

I've never been a big Mercedes fan.  They seem to be a sledgehammer whereas a BMW is a scalpel.

oh I see, my mistake. I don't know much about cars, as you can tell, but I enjoy driving them.

I don't know when they're being announced, or if this applies to the "low boot" you mentioned, but I was told by a reliable that at least one of the boots being introduced this fall will feature a grey leather, which I'm very interested to see.

I don't know if it's SF approved, but here is a combo I put together once in a while. Green (sort of a dark olive) pants, brown silk socks, and, of course, walnut calf strands. I picked them up through the Nordstrom sale two years ago for $199.

I need to get some edge dressing or try polishing the sole edge at the toes.

LOL. I did a double-take on that myself, but let it go.

Be nice to see people buying "American" made shoes also buying cars from American companies, but I digress; disclosure, I originate from Detroit.

I like how tight you were able to lace those - looks good.

Sizing question:

Found my best fit at the Allen Edmonds store for the Park Ave to be 12B. She measured me at 13 for my arch measurement but 12 for the toe. For comparison i've been buying size 11D or 11.5D most of my adult life. Always been long enough but was a bit wide. Realized that I can't afford both the STrand and the Park ave right not so i'm looking to purchase some lightly used Park Aves. Found some in 11.5C and 11.5B. Wondering if anyone has insight as to how the width would compare to the 12B. The 12B was just snug enough in the toe box (where it counts) and a little loose in the heel. Assuming i'm good on length, I'm trying to figure out if i'd be OK with the 11.5 in a similar width.

How much do widths change as the size goes up?

I tried the Neumora on in Boston on Saturday.  Surprisingly, they run even longer than the 5 last.  A 9.5D for my Strands and Neumoks fit like a glove, the Neumora 9.5D fairly long and wide, 9D was much better and fit almost identical to my 9.5D Strands.

Just incase anyone is wondering how they fit...

Also, the manager suggested the Chili edge and sole dressing for my walnut strands... i thought neutral was the way to go, but I will try it tonight and see how it looks...

The lady I spoke to the other day said that there were three new boots coming out, but she could not reference the low boot - I guess I will have to wait.
