Thanks for sharing this. I was wondering how others like them. I've been thinking about getting a pair of the CXL.

I've got 2 pairs, and love them especially in bad weather.  My cxl pair gets worn the most. :)  If the 511 last is a fit for you, at current prices (both closeout and shoebank) these are a great addition!

I wish!

It would be great if they brought some of these rough collection ideas to a last like the B34...seems with the popularity of Viberg and similar brands that a lot of denim wearing folks prefer a rounded toe to the sleeker toe. Personally I have only bought 1 sleeker shoe in the last year and that was an Alden NST Ravello shell and no way was I passing that up and no boots in that style.

I am completely new to denim in the last 6 months and have no plans of being a crazy non washing must be chained cuffed person...I have added probably 10 pairs of various colored Levi's and 3 or 4 pairs of Selvedge(in my size not an easy thing to do). I just love the rounder beefier styles...even with my chinos and cords these days.

I received a separate email from another representative saying the closeouts have been adjusted online and the current models do qualify, but have not been adjusted. I checked several models I've been tracking and saw examples of both closeouts and current models with adjusted prices today, as well as examples of both categories not being adjusted.

The website says 20% sale on current items.

Sometimes, the price drop is earlier than expected, so you may not see the actual drop on the first day of the sale.

And they do sometimes alter closeout prices at the same time, but when the sale is over, closeout prices will not increase with the current models.

My typical work outfit is a dress shirt/chinos or wool pants/tie on half the days (I'm a physician) and occasionally dark denim. I have a pair of Chili McGregors as well as a pair of burgundy single monk straps (from Banana Republic).

I was looking at the Dundee 2.0 in brown grain but am open to other suggestions.

Thanks!

I think the Dundee 2.0 in brown grain would be great for you. I bought a pair for wet / rainy days and really like them. I was going to also suggest the MacNeil 2.0 in brown grain, but with the chili McGregors you already have a wingtip and you don't have a chukka.

Another option may be the Clark Street in brown (not sure if they have your size). I have that shoe and it is great for rainy days and would work well with your wardrobe.

Ahh, just cleared my cache and see the 20% corner notification. Appreciate the reply! :-)

I will keep track throughout the day as I still see some pairs that have the same price as several weeks ago. Thank you!

the mcgregor was $157 the past couple of days. Is there an additional 20% off then?

No, I think those are at their real (closeout) pricing, i.e. after the sale, they will still be at that price.

Confirmed this with SA at the Jeffersonville outlet - there is no extra 20% off the clearance (closeout) styles. The McGregor is still a killer price at $157 though.... I have a dainite pair on the way.

Ok, I think i'm going to have to pull the trigger on a pair of Chili Mcgregors.  In between chili 2nds with leather sole, or dark chili 1sts with danite.  I have a pair in bourbon and wear with both jeans and suits.  Does the danite sole make them too casual for a suit (assuming you fine gents would wear them with a suit to begin with)?

Bellevues are my every day boots through the winter. I like them, but don't love them. They are the only AE boots I've tried, so I'm no sure if I'm just not a big boot guy, or if they are just appropriately priced. I bought them discounted and have worn them a couple of years now. They wear well, so I'm just being neutral, and I would say if you like the style, you'll be happy, but they probably don't offer anything that doesn't meet the eye.
