I take same size in Macneil and Strands - 10E (though both are cordovan, i don't know if that impacts the fit or not). The issue I had with MAcneil is it's wider heel, I really needed to go with E width to accommodate toebox but that widened the heel as well which i didn't want.

If you don't mind saying, what, if any, were the marks missed?

Agreed. For the H-B fit the 5 last and 7 last fit the same, however like Gabru says, the MacNeil heel is much wider and may be loose.

I also don't size down on Alden's Barrie last, but I do go narrower (typically wear 3E in all AEs, but only E width with the Barrie).

Inaugural wear of my Bob's Chili Dainite Lexingtons today in PC fashion. I've been wanting  these since I bought a pair for my friend for his birthday last summer. AE told me they couldn't/wouldn't make them in my size though, even as an SMU. Lo and behold, I saw them in my size on the Shoebank last week.

No - these look more red due to the sun shining through the window and crappy phone camera.

This is closer to the actual color

They are truly dark brown

I'm thinking about selling my Warwick 2nds (Brooks version). I've only wore them a few times since they end up hurting the top of my feet.  Not sure if it means monks are a poor choice for my foot shape, or maybe its a break in issue?  In any case before trying the 'bay I thought I would ask here if anyone is interested.  They are black in size 10D.  Send me a message if interested.

I have 2 pair of MacNeils both in the same size and 95% of my other AE's and they fit great for me.

I haven't found any marks at all. Can't imagine why they are seconds. I couldn't believe it when I got them in the mail. Hopefully they will do another $99 brooks seconds deal next year.

Speaking of BB AEs, anyone have these loafers?  I'm thinking of adding a pair in the spring for summer usage.

I have a pair. Pretty resilient, but fits snug.

I had a very similar issue with my Warwicks, which hurt the top of my feet as well. My left leg is slightly shorter than my right, so I wear a lift in the heel, causing the knuckle above the instep to press painfully against the top of the shoe.

However, over 10-20 wears, the shoe stretched (unlike your toes, the rest of your foot provides some pretty strong resistance to the shoe) and now it fits comfortably in that area. The Warwicks are a pleasure to wear.

It's certainly a gamble without knowing the specifics of your case. In any event, you may want to take the shoes to a cobbler and ask about stretching the leather at any pinch points.

(Also, long-time lurker, first post!)

A recent acquisition for me:

Daltons in Oxblood. Been a long-time want. They're stiffer than expected and make a very strong rubbing/creaking noise, though. I'm sure that will go away if I wear them.

I have some mixed feelings on this order. I purchased the shoes in early October and they shipped 2 months later. I had a lot of work travel on my card in December and was concerned about having another large charge, so I monitored it and realized that AE hadn't actually charged me. I wound up contacting my credit card company to track down the issue, and confirmed it was an oversight on AE's part. I went on hold with AE a couple of times and then sent them an e-mail letting them know that they hadn't charged me. Instead of thanking me for my honest in pointing out the issue, they aggressively told me to return the shoes "immediately." Unfortunately, I'm traveling for work until April and told them I could not do that.

I'm concerned they'll open some sort of billing dispute with me. As it is, I felt their attitude was quite obnoxious instead of making me feel appreciated. I'm likely to return the shoes and stop buying from AE altogether. Is this a typical AE customer support experience? I realize this thread is more about the products than the company, but I didn't know who else to ask.

It's a shame, because I absolutely love their shoes and get compliments on them all the time! I'd say my favorites are these custom-color Neumoks that work well with khakis. I'm thinking about changing the laces out, however -- a little hard to find a matching color.

Or a two for one, as they have also done in the past I believe, would work as well. Congratulations on the score. I don't much care for the 222, and yet that seems to be what several of the BB offerings I like are. I wish they would move to a new loafer and last. I hope to get the BB oxblood dundee if another ever shows up in my size.

@MattRiv I have a Presidio, but for the heel to fit, I have to use tongue pads, and the width is still tight around the toes.
