Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

MacNeil, likely burgundy shell cordovan, but could be burgundy polished cobbler (corrected grain). AE has reused a few model numbers over the years, making it a bit difficult to know for sure without looking at the leather. How about some pictures of the shoes?

My burgundy shell MacNeils have 9097 on them. I think yours are probly polished cobbler/corrected grain or something else.

AE has used different model numbers for the #8 shell MacNeil over the years. In the 1960s, they used 9147 for #8 shell, but in the 1980s-1990s, 9147 was used for polished cobbler.

9097 is the current model number for the burgundy shell MacNeil, but I'm fairly confident that 9187 was also used for burgundy shell. See this eBay listing, for example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALLEN-EDMONDS-MacNeil-Shell-Cordovan-shoes-10-5-D-Wingtips-Oxfords-650-EUC-/321946350729 - you can see from the photos that these are shell.

Again, without seeing photos, it's hard to know for sure.

While the 2nd sale is going on, I'm anxious to see if AE will do 20% off first from their clearance this year. From what I recall it was early Feb last year.

Halsted the bad ass of the monk strap....ok not sure how bad ass a buckle on a men's shoe is...but this is a stellar model that needs to come back...shocked AE in this denim crazy Era has not bung it back...photos make it look square toed but is not...this shoe in kudu, dublin, waxed would be killer

Planning to get a loafer but not sure which one out of Randolph and Ascher ?
Ascher looks nice but toe looks squarish from the pics, Can someone share their own experience on this one ?

Here is the pair of monk straps that I hesitated on, and missed out -- the Lubbock.

The Warwick just doesn't look or fit right IMO.
I still haven't pulled the trigger on the Franciscans I've been wanting for two years, because I've been waiting for a shell trunk show to come around when I have disposable cash. I did pick up some Oxblood Warwicks when they were on deep discount, and I love them. Fit works for me (better on my narrower left foot), and they look sleek and sexy enough to work with both jeans and a (casual) suit.

Hey guys,

Hoping for your opinion. I picked up the Madison parks at Nordstrom online during their winter sale. Is it worth the hassle to return these?

Thanks in advance.

@Dan08

I would be more than fine keeping those

Somebody needs to buy these and send them in for a recraft.  Oh, how I wish they were my size.

Maybe all they need is a good cleaning and polishing but they would look nice with new Dainite soles.

Those look fine to me.

I wish AE would come out with a wingtip without medallion. Full wing with brouge details but nothing else. Seems that there was once a shoe called the Richmond. Anyone have this shoe?

Thanks again to everyone who commented about my Mora 2.0 vs Franciscan monkstrap question. I will go with a walnut Franciscan for now, because its style is more versatile and I don't have any walnut shoes yet. :bigstar:
