Any suggestions on how to go about that?  I feel like I should be able to just go into the store, but I don't know how I would prove I didn't get two.  Anyone run into this before?

They only put one shoe in a bag nowadays apparently and one out. I have had a 2nd arrive with a broken lace (the little plastic thingie at the end came off the first time I did the laces ...) I just sent them an email to ask what we could do about it and they said they'd send me one if I decide to keep the shoes (in the end I didn't, since I needed to order a size bigger anyway, which didn't have broken laces).

TL;DR: Just go and ask or call in if you're too far from a store to make it worth it.

I suspect this makes it easier to make sure they're vending the correct pair! smile.gif

Or perhaps so that the stores can bring out a few sizes, with one shoe out to hone in on a size, before the customer tries on both.  Saves them from having to take shoes in and out of the bags over and over, if they keep one out.

If you go to a store they will just give you a pair, or call CAC and they will send you a pair.
Laces cost AE like next to nothing.

I had this happen to me, so I went in to purchase the other color laces. They just gave me a pair.

This happened to me with a shoehorn.  Went in to exchange a pair of shoes and was about to leave when I remembered I needed another horn.  SA just grabbed one and handed it to me and said "Here.  Sorry for the trouble."  I just wish quality went along with the always great AE service.

As soon as the coffee is brewed I plan to begin catching up on the last 100 plus posts.... Hope everyone had a great Christmas for those that celebrate it.

Went extra manly today with waxy long branches, flannel lined cargo pants, flannel shirt and Carhart jacket(great jacket at a terrific price)

No snow or rain in southern California. Broke out the old Byron's. I wish I could get some Park Aves on this same last.

I'd love to stumble across a NOS Byron in brown someday. I like the toe cap better than the FA and they'd fit me better.

What they "retire" and what they keep is a mystery to me.

I really like my Sauk Drive too and wanted to as well, but I woke up to this:

I had to shovel this twice already and I will have to again.

So even though they're not AE, these helped me nicely:

Me too (no pic). I am wearing these more and more. I have a pair of LB, but the fit isn't as good - have a 1/2 size bigger on the way. If I'd known how well the Sauks were going to work out I would have ordered 2 pair. They're a great winter boot for me and are seeing 2-3 days per week in the bad weather rotation.

I'm jealous - I like the Yorktown and love the Cornwallis, but the last is not compatible with my foot.
